Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will be responsible for leading the preparation, review, and timely filing of all periodic and current reports, and for maturing our reporting processes, controls, and supporting systems as the company grows.\nThis role is both strategic and hands-on: you will design and implement best-in-class reporting practices while rolling up your sleeves to lead the drafting, coordination, and review of all SEC filings. You will collaborate closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, and other business leaders to ensure accurate, compliant, and insightful external reporting.\nKey Responsibilities\nSEC Reporting & Technical Accounting \nLead the end-to-end preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required documents).\nOwn the drafting of MD&A, financial statement footnotes, and other narrative disclosures, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP requirements.\nCoordinate XBRL tagging and review for all SEC filings.\nMonitor and interpret new and evolving accounting standards (U.S. GAAP) and SEC regulations; assess their impact on the company and drive implementation.\nPartner with the technical accounting team to research complex transactions and ensure appropriate accounting and disclosure (e.g., revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, debt/equity instruments, business combinations).\nProcess Maturity & Internal Controls\nDesign, refine, and document standardized processes and calendars for quarterly and annual reporting cycles, emphasizing efficiency, accuracy, and clear ownership.\nEnhance and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting related to SEC filings, including review checklists, disclosure controls, and key control activities.\nImplement best practices and technology tools (e.g., disclosure management software) to streamline drafting, collaboration, version control, and review workflows.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to shorten close timelines, reduce errors, and elevate the quality of external disclosures.\nCross-Functional Collaboration \nWork closely with FP&A to ensure consistency between external reporting, board materials, and internal performance metrics and forecasts.\nPartner with Legal and Investor Relations on disclosure strategy, earnings materials, and alignment of SEC filings with public communications.\nLiaise with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits, managing the reporting-related audit requests and resolving issues promptly.\nSupport the Corporate Controller and CFO with ad-hoc analyses, board and audit committee materials, and investor-related requests.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required\nCPA certification\n7-10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including significant SEC reporting experience at a public company and/or Big 4 public accounting\nDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and external reporting requirements\nExperience leading the preparation of 10-K/10-Q filings and related disclosures\nStrong technical accounting skills and experience evaluating complex transactions and their disclosure implications.\nExcellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting and business matters into clear, concise disclosures.\nAdvanced Excel skills and familiarity with various ERPs\nStrong project management skills; able to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.\nDesired Experience:\nProven track record building or maturing reporting processes, controls, and systems in a growing organization.\nExperience with SEC/disclosure management software (e.g., Workiva)\nManufacturing and/or Aerospace & Defense industry experience\nColorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $167,000 - $207,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
