The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologists and optometrists by performing a variety of technical and clinical tasks to ensure efficient patient care and accurate diagnostic testing.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct preliminary eye exams and diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, visual fields, and tonometry.\nPrepare patients for examination by explaining procedures and answering questions.\nAssist provider during patient exams and minor procedures.\nMaintain and operate ophthalmic equipment and ensure proper calibration and cleanliness.\nRecord patient medical histories and document examination results accurately.\nSchedule patient appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.\nEnsure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.\nCollaborate with the clinical team to provide excellent patient care and support.\nQualifications\nProven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or similar role.\nKnowledge of ophthalmic instruments and diagnostic procedures.\nStrong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nCertification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred but not required.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in ophthalmic technology is a plus.\nHow to Apply\nInterested candidates are encouraged to submit their resume and cover letter to SW Florida Eye Care.
