This CDL A Backhaul Driver goes beyond simply transporting goods - it’s about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafe Driving: Skillfully drive your truck to vendors and designated drop-off sites, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. \nInspect and Confirm: Verify the freight on the truck, check the trailer temperatures, and ensure accuracy with vendors - every detail matters. \nFinish Strong: Return the tractor and trailer to the division once the route is completed. \nEquipment Inspection: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections, ensuring everything is in top condition for the road ahead. \nAdaptability: All other duties assigned by management.\nPhysical Requirements\nLift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required. \nDriving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.\nComfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.\nContinuously grasp objects & manipulate objects. Frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity.\nMust be able to perform coupling procedures for the Tractor/Trailer.\nQualifications\nRegister to the FMCSA Clearinghouse* \nMust be at least 21 years of age. \nMust have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. \nMinimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required. \nAbility to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations. \nWillingness to travel 2-3 times per week is required. \nMust be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records. \nAbout US FOODS®\nClick here to learn more!\n*Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation.
