USAA roles may offer remote or hybrid flexibility for active-duty military spouses consistent with applicable policy and business needs.\nThe Opportunity\nThe AI Governance Analyst - Mid Level will be part of USAA’s AI governance function, helping enable the responsible development, deployment and ongoing use of AI across the enterprise. This role combines analytics, risk management and governance to assess AI-related risks, strengthen controls and monitoring and translate complex business and technical information into actionable insights. The role offers the opportunity to work across business, technology, risk and governance teams as USAA expands its use of emerging AI capabilities while maintaining strong risk and compliance practices.\nWe offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nProvides risk management support for a line of business or staff agency in key risk identification, measurement and aggregation, and the understanding and management of risk through appropriate quantitative and analytical practices and processes. Monitors the risk and control environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels and consults on risk mitigation plans.\nWhat you'll do:\nApplies advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.\nApplies knowledge to produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.\nProduces and communicates analytical content and data visualizations for discussions with cross functional teams, governance committees and business process owners to influence business strategies related to risk opportunities and effectiveness.\nMay create statistical reporting and financial analysis to forecast results for required stress test scenarios, including analyzing and challenging stress testing results and partnering with relevant functions to validate those results.\nMay engage in model validations, produce model validation reports, measure and aggregate model risks, and/or report on model issues to committees, auditors, and regulators.\nEnsures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering Actuarial Sciences, or quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.\n4 years related quantitative analysis experience to include statistical analysis, modeling, engineering, mathematics, business or other quantitative discipline; OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 2 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management; OR PhD in Economics, , Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.\n2 years experience working with complex analytical tools and data.\nExperience producing and presenting research data related to business activities.\nExperience effectively participating in cross-functional teams.\nWhat sets you apart:\nRegulated-industry experience.\nAnalytics, risk, governance, controls, compliance, model risk, or data governance experience; AI a plus.\nStrong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nUS military experience through service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $197,730.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
