USAA roles may offer remote or hybrid flexibility for active-duty military spouses consistent with applicable policy and business needs.\nThe Opportunity\nThe Senior AI Governance Analyst will play a key role in USAA’s AI governance function, helping shape how AI risk is assessed, governed and monitored across the enterprise. This role applies advanced analytics and risk-management expertise to complex AI and emerging-technology issues, develops insights and recommendations for cross-functional and governance discussions and helps strengthen the controls and practices that support responsible AI. The position provides an opportunity to influence enterprise AI governance while working across business, technology, risk and leadership teams in a highly regulated environment.\nWe offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nProvides risk management support for a line of business or staff agency in key risk identification, measurement and aggregation, and the understanding and management of risk through appropriate quantitative and analytical practices and processes. Monitors the risk and control environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels and consults on risk mitigation plans.\nWhat you'll do:\nUtilizes and applies advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.\nEngages in model validation and produces model validation reports.\nApplies innovative and scientific/quantitative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make recommendations to answer business objectives and drive change.\nTranslates recommendations into communication materials to effectively present to colleagues for peer review and management.\nProduces advanced analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.\nProvides mentorship to other team members in the peer review process.\nMay produce reports and data visualizations for Executive Leadership and Board(s) with quantitative data to influence strategic decision making.\nEnsures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences, or quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.\n6 years related quantitative analysis experience to include statistical analysis, modeling, engineering, mathematics, business or other quantitative discipline; OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 4 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management; OR PhD in Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline and up to 2 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.\n4 years experience working with complex analytical tools and data.\nExperience producing and presenting research data related to key business activities.\nExperience effectively participating in and leading cross-functional team discussions related to risk management.\nExperience providing guidance to team members related to research and data peer reviews.\nWhat sets you apart:\nRegulated-industry experience.\nAdvanced analytics, risk, AI governance, controls, compliance, model risk, or data governance experience.\nProven ability to lead cross-functional governance discussions and influence senior stakeholders.\nStrong ability to translate complex AI and risk topics into clear recommendations.\nUS military experience through service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080 - $218,030.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
