This position can be based in the following location: San Antonio, TX.\nRelocation assistance is not available for this position.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions.\nInvestigates and resolves complex application and system technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.\nContinually improves operations by conducting complex systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.\nPrepares and installs complex solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.\nDesign, develop, code, and test technical solutions.\nWrite code to deliver features, and improvements, on a regular basis.\nInvestigates and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.\nContinually improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.\nPrepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.\nFollows the software development lifecycle.\nEnsures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience. \n2 years of software development experience specific to a discipline/technology. \n1 year of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.\nBasic Understanding of one or more of the following:\nAI-Assisted Software Engineering\nJava, Swift, Objective-C, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, Go, Python, JSON, XML, SOAP, REST APIs, Spring Boot, React, Redux, Git, GitLab, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals, Open Liberty, SQL, JUnit, Mockito, Kafka or MQ, Dynatrace\nzOS, TSO/ISPF, PL/I, Cobol, SQL, JES2 / JES, RACF, WLM, SMF, JCL, PROCs, Job Scheduling concepts, Fault Analyzer, REXX, Python on z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, UDB, Oracle, IBM z/OS Connect\nKnowledge and understanding of troubleshooting applications and systems within production issues.\nAbility to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions.\nAbility to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.\nBasic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.\nWhat sets you apart:\nExperience applying Generative AI and AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate software development, improve code quality, enhance production support, automate operational processes, support application modernization, and improve overall engineering productivity across complex enterprise environments.\nExperience working across both legacy and modern technology stacks, including technologies such as PL/I, COBOL, CICS, DB2, Mainframe, Java, AWS, and cloud-native platforms.\nProven success by reducing technical debt while maintaining production stability and meeting business commitments.\nExperience supporting operational health metrics, service-level objectives (SLOs), service-level agreements (SLAs), and production availability goals.\nAWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift, SAFe Agile, Java, Cloud, or Security-related certifications.\nExperience working across technologies ranging from Mainframe and PL/I to AWS and cloud-native architectures.\nStrong production support background with proven success resolving complex incidents and improving application reliability.\nUS military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner.\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $147,390.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
