USAA roles may offer remote or hybrid flexibility for active-duty military spouses consistent with applicable policy and business needs.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking a dedicated Product Development Director to support the Property and Casualty (P&C) Auto Product Development area. This is a non-people leading director role that will work closely with this team to influence Auto product management experience enhancements and monitor performance through data insights.\nThis role is accountable for developing new products, overseeing and managing the launch and maturation of new products into target strategic markets. Acting as a cross functional expert, this position provides expertise and support for product line initiatives related to product development, compliance, operational and process improvements, claims management, vendor management, product documentation, fulfillment, and/or system releases.\nThis role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.\nWhat you'll do:\nResponsible for development of digital first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members Leads development and launch of new innovative product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.\nResponsible for maintaining thorough level of knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope (e.g.trends, results, etc.) Responsible for post-launch monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of 'new in market' products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.\nDevelops recommendations to launch new products and the evaluation and decision to buy/build or ally for individual product(s).\nGenerates creative product and coverage solutions for member needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.\nResponsible for maintaining thorough level of knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope (e.g.trends, results, etc.).\nResponsible for post-launch monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of 'new in market' products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.\nConducts complex analysis of internal and external data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.\nDevelops and communicates the new product value proposition for individual products.\nEnsures sales support is delivered to all distribution channels (e.g., com, mobile, contact center) so that the new product is properly positioned to members.\nLeads the analysis and evaluation of new product performance metrics to make changes to offerings, if necessary, prior to full launch.\nCoordinates with relevant control partners (to include Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.\nEnsures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Statistics; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.\n8 years relevant experience in Actuarial, Pricing, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience.\nExtensive experience in developing, deploying and supporting product and/or integrated suite of products.\nExperience working through agile product development process, managing multiple products simultaneously.\nKnowledge and application of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).\nCreative problem solver with hands on experience in problem framing, qualitative & quantitative research, running product experiments, hypothesis testing and prototyping to launch products at the intersection of Human, Technology and Business dimensions.\nNavigates through ambiguous contexts with confidence.\nAbility to break large complex initiatives into smaller manageable features and capabilities and deliver them early and often.\nWhat sets you apart:\nStrong P&C Business Acumen, preferably in Auto (product management, pricing, underwriting, product intelligence etc.).\nExperience designing innovative Insurance product enhancements (preferably Auto).\nDemonstrated experience with data analytics and ability to deliver insights (ideally Snowflake, SQL, Tableau).\nStrong critical thinking skills to evaluate information, identify data gaps, and ensure the validity of insights.\nSkill in applying critical thinking to analyze the entire product lifecycle, anticipating potential issues in pricing, underwriting, claims, or experience that that might arise from product design, and proactively identifying solutions.\nExperience translating business requirements to technical and analytical teams.\nExperience developing complex business case analysis (BCA).\nExperience supporting product briefings and presenting to executive leadership.\nUS military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner.\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
