This role is ideal for a quantitative professional who thrives at the intersection of data, risk, and strategy. The successful candidate will develop, validate, and challenge complex models supporting pricing, reserving, capital risk, forecasting, and overall risk management activities. Working closely with business partners and senior leadership, you will identify emerging risks, evaluate market trends, and provide actionable insights that enhance business performance while ensuring sound risk practices.\nThis position requires a highly analytical and self-directed professional with a strong foundation in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related quantitative discipline. Candidates should bring experience independently sourcing, validating, and analyzing large datasets to support risk assessments, pricing decisions, and strategic forecasting efforts. Preferred candidates will possess actuarial credentials such as ACAS designation or equivalent advanced quantitative expertise, along with hands-on experience validating go-to-market pricing strategies, conducting rate trend analyses, and communicating complex findings to both technical and executive audiences. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex initiatives, influence enterprise-wide risk decisions, and serve as a trusted advisor within a fast-paced and highly collaborative risk organization.\nWe offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC\nRelocation assistance is not available for this position.\nWhat you'll do:\nApplies expert analytical knowledge to utilize advanced analytics to assess future risk and/or new risks, opportunities, and effectiveness.\nTranslates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.\nPresents findings to senior level leadership.\nApplies expert knowledge and industry best practices to quantify risk and aggregate exposures.\nDevelops complex systems and programs that measure aggregate risk exposures.\nPerforms model validations and presents results to senior leadership.\nApplies innovative and scientific/quantitative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make recommendations to answer business objectives and drive change.\nTranslates recommendations into communication materials to effectively present to senior leadership.\nRecommendations typically have a major impact on business results.\nProvides subject matter expertise in operationalizing recommendations.\nApplies expert knowledge to produce advanced analytical material to lead discussions with cross functional teams and senior leadership to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.\nDemonstrates thought leadership in cross functional team environments.\nDrives and creates cross functional teams in support of initiatives that have significant impact to the enterprise or a core business area.\nProvides direction and mentorship to other team members in the peer review process.\nExpertly communicates analytical results, findings and solutions to governance committees and business process owners and influences business analysis.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences, or quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.\nExperiences that will support your success:\n8 years of related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative discipline.\nOR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 6 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.\nOR PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline and up to 4 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.\nWhat sets you apart:\nUS military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner\nAdvanced Quantitative Risk Analytics Expertise - Demonstrated experience developing, validating, and challenging quantitative models supporting pricing, reserving, capital risk, forecasting, and risk management decisions within financial services or insurance environments.\nActuarial or Advanced Analytical Credentials - ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society), or equivalent advanced quantitative, actuarial, statistics, mathematics, economics, or data science background.\nData Management and Independent Analytical Capability - Proven ability to independently source, manipulate, validate, and analyze large and complex datasets, leveraging analytical tools to produce actionable risk insights and business recommendations.\nPricing Strategy and Forecasting Experience - Experience evaluating pricing strategies, validating go-to-market pricing decisions, conducting rate trend analysis, and developing forecasts that influence business performance and risk outcomes.\nExecutive Communication and Risk Governance Skills - Demonstrated ability to translate complex quantitative analyses into clear, concise presentations, business routines, and formal risk memorandums for executive leadership, governance committees, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders.\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $143,320 - $273,930.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
