USAA roles may offer remote or hybrid flexibility for active-duty military spouses consistent with applicable policy and business needs.\nThe Opportunity\nAs a Senior Cloud Info Security Analyst, you will join the Cloud Incident Response team within USAA's Cyber Threat Operations Center (CTOC) and help protect one of the nation's leading financial services organizations from evolving cyber threats. In this role, you'll investigate and respond to security incidents across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and SaaS platforms while working with advanced security technologies in a large-scale cloud environment. You'll collaborate with engineers, threat hunters, and security leaders to strengthen detection capabilities, enhance response processes, and help secure critical business services.\nWe offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC or Colorado Springs, CO. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nWhat you'll do:\nLeads peers and team members in the execution of the Information Security domain activities while anticipating efforts that will impact their team.\nResearches and analyzes the latest information security vulnerabilities, threats, exploits, trends and intelligence. Shares intelligence with peer teams.\nConducts advanced vulnerability management, security configuration assessments, and/or penetration testing operations and manages the resulting findings.\nDevelops analysts through training and knowledge sharing activities.\nMonitors internal and external networks, systems, and applications for advanced security anomalies and events (e.g. suspicious behavior, attacks, and security breaches). Trains analysts in incident detection and response.\nResponds to cyber incidents, performing detailed analysis using complex security tools to determine root cause and impact by using a broad range of demonstrated experience (e.g. forensics, networking, servers, coding, etc.) to determine a malicious actor's tactics, techniques, and procedures. Trains new analysts in incident detection and response.\nUtilizes discoveries from the incident response process to make significant and/or complex improvements to the existing detection capabilities, operational processes and security controls.\nPrepares and delivers written and/or verbal briefs with recommendations to senior leadership on latest threats, alerts, incidents, and improvements.\nProvides insight on issues and serves as a mentor and coach to peers and team members for assigned area of responsibility.\nEnsures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.\n6 years of related experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity and/or Information Technology with a security focus to include accountability for complex tasks and/or projects.\n4 years of related experience in one of the following domains: Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Architecture and Engineering, Communications and Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Security Assessment and Testing, Security Operations, Software Development Security.\nAdvanced level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, risk management, industry practices and emerging trends.\nKnowledge of attacker tools/tactics/procedures and applying them to access management, governance, threat hunting, investigations, and incident response.\nKnowledge of defense-in-depth principles and security architecture.\nWhat sets you apart:\nExperience investigating complex security incidents across AWS, Azure, GCP, and SaaS.\nStrong knowledge of IAM, cloud networking, APIs, logging, and cloud-native services.\nAbility to independently scope incidents, analyze evidence, determine root cause, and drive remediation.\nExperience with SIEM, EDR, and cloud security tools such as CrowdStrike, Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic, Wiz, or Prisma Cloud.\nStrong understanding of cloud threats, including credential compromise, privilege escalation, API abuse, lateral movement, and data exfiltration.\nExperience with cloud forensics, detection engineering, automation, and incident response playbooks.\nAbility to lead investigations and communicate findings to technical teams and leadership.\nStrong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and incident response frameworks.\nRelevant certifications such as GCIH, GCFA, CCSP, CISSP, or cloud security certifications preferred.\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310.00 - $243,340.00.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
