Serves as a senior native mobile application engineer focused on the design, development, maintenance, and evolution of the core client application stack. Engaged in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle, including gathering and analyzing requirements, architecting and designing solutions, developing and testing mobile application code, documenting implementations, deploying enhancements, and responding to production incidents and outages. \nWorks independently to deliver complex technical solutions while providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other engineers. Leads development efforts across client application initiatives, establishes and promotes engineering best practices, drives code quality and maintainability, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and performant mobile solutions that meet business and user needs.\nWe offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign, develop, code, and test complex tactical as well as strategic technical solutions across many technologies, including emerging technologies, to integrate existing systems and tools, collaborating with Engineers or Architects within their team/department and occasionally outside of their domain.\nLead code/design reviews and communicates updates to stakeholders with team to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate planning.\nDevelop complex algorithms to solve business needs.\nInvestigates and resolves complex application and system technical problems and production issues by directing troubleshooting of end-to-end solutions.\nMentors engineers, coaches engineers on design, development, and maintenance of systems; Reviews teammates' code.\nInfluence and help shape the future of their specific domain's architecture and quality standards and understand, identify, measure across entire solution.\nIdentify system performance issues, to include technical debt, and optimize solution.\nEnsures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.\n10 years of native mobile software development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within client-side development.\n10 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle to include leading code/design reviews.\nIntermediate understanding of Swift, Objective-C, UIKit, Swift Concurrency, SwiftUI\nDemonstrated experience researching technical issues and generating creative/innovative solutions.\nDemonstrated experience addressing production issues by troubleshooting applications and systems.\nExperience articulating technical challenges and solutions.\nDemonstrate strong knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals.\nDemonstrated experience working with cloud technologies and tools.\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080.00 - $218,030.00.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
