USAA roles may offer remote or hybrid flexibility for active-duty military spouses consistent with applicable policy and business needs.\nThe Opportunity\nAs a dedicated Software Engineer - Contact Center Applications - Intermediate Level you will work with the Member Service Representative (MSR) Performance and Analytics team within USAA’s Contact Center Technologies department. This team utilizes agile methodologies to engineer and maintain platform capabilities which enable USAA to operate as a multi-channel contact center that is compliant, governed, and focused on the measurement and improvement of MSR behaviors and their interactions with USAA members.\nWithin defined guidelines and frameworks, you will provide support to the Association through delivering best in class technology solutions. You will engage in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which include gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing software, and responding to outages.\nWe offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nDesign, develop, code, and test technical solutions.\nWrite code to deliver features, and improvements on a regular basis.\nInvestigate and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.\nContinually improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.\nPrepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.\nFollow the software development lifecycle.\nEnsure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat You Have:\nBachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education or experience or Approved certification from CodeUp, Galvenize, VetFIT (Veterans for IT) or eFIT (Employees for IT). \n2 years of software development experience specific to Java.\n1 year of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.\nBasic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL\nKnowledge and understanding of troubleshooting applications and systems within production issues.\nAbility to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions\nAbility to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions\nBasic understanding of cloud technologies and tools\nWhat sets you apart:\nExperience with Java API / Batch Jobs (Spring Boot, Kafka, REST API), JavaScript UI Development (React)\nPrior experience with NiCE Performance Management or NiCE Quality Central\nExperience integrating and supporting vendor SaaS applications. \nExperience creating automated test cases with Selenium or Cypress\nExperience with SQL Data Storage/Modification (Microsoft SQL Server)\nExperience with Git Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (GitLab Pipelines)\nExperience operating in a SAFe Agile environment\nUS military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner. \nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $147,390.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
