Are you ready to join us?Compensation:Pay Transparency:Our salary ranges are structured to provide opportunities for growth and advancement within a role. As a result, most new hires are placed between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on qualifications and experience, while the top of the range is generally reserved for employees who have demonstrated sustained expertise and performance in the position. The anticipated payfor new hires entering as a Supervisor-Application Development is between $115,000 - 144,000. The full pay range for this role is $115,000 to $173,000. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications, and company tenure & equity. Candidates without team leadership experience, large-scale application design and development expertise, project management experience, and a strong background in modern application development practices may be less competitive for this role.\nSupervisor - Application Development Overview This role is responsible for managing an application development team, including staffing, work assignments, performance management, and employee development. The supervisor will also develop and prioritize project plans and requirements, ensuring that all application development complies with IT policies, security, and regulatory requirements.\nEssential Duties:\nEstablishes and maintains communications and working relationships with management in other departments across the enterprise\n\nProvides design input and implementation supervision on complex software development projects\n\nProvides guidance to staff regarding work procedures, code reviews, unit tests, security scans, work priorities, special requests and various technical issues from customers \n\nManages moderate to large sized projects, including those involving multiple technologies and complex business functionality, and implications for the business and/or the IT architecture\n\nTransfers system knowledge to junior team members and provides coaching and tips for continued growth in order to take on more advanced tasks\n\nLeads team in collaboration on projects and customer issue resolution\n\nDetermines work requirements, priorities, and best use of resources for planned and ad hoc projects\n\nPerforms administrative duties of enterprise applications and systems\n\nArchitects, develops and tests new applications\n\nMonitors and measures individual performance and provides employees feedback and training to close gaps in performance\n\nMentors staff for continued growth of employee skills\n\nHolds regular meetings with direct reports to discuss progress toward goals and review performance\n\nEvaluates each goal, behavior, and skill set\n\nParticipates in the hiring of new employees\n\nPerforms other related duties and responsibilities as assigned\n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nKnowledge of advanced IT application development principles and practices for object-oriented programming, client server, web, and service-oriented architecture\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to address a wide range of audiences\n\nUnderstanding of complex automated systems and project management life cycle practices and tools for both Agile and Waterfall methodologies\n\nAbility to effectively prioritize resources to meet the needs of customers\n\nAbility to multi-task and work within time constraints\n\nDemonstrated leadership skills and the ability to assist and guide others\n\nAbility to supervise staff using appropriate tools and techniques\n\nAbility to establish priorities, make sound decisions and take action as needed\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to identify trends, question discrepancies and make recommendations\n\nRelationship management skills and a highly collaborative workstyle\n\nExcellent detail orientation, highly organized and able to prioritize work\n\nRequired Education and Experience:\nBachelor's Degree. May substitute equivalent work experience or demonstrated competency for education\n\nExperience as a Team Lead on an Application Development Team\n\n7+ years IT experience, with 5 of those years focusing on building large scale application development and application system design\n\nExperience managing customer requirements or demands\n\nOr, equivalent military experience\n\nPreferred Education and Experience:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with a MBA or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field\n\nBackground in insurance or financial industry.
