It also provides merchant authorization and settlement services. Payment Services is a dynamic and highly regulated environment requiring strong audit oversight.\nThe Senior Audit Project Manager within Corporate Audit Services (CAS) plays a critical role in providing independent assurance and advisory services to evaluate and improve risk management, control, and governance processes across U.S. Bancorp (USB), affiliates, and majority-owned entities. This position is dedicated to supporting the Payment Services division, ensuring robust audit coverage of its products, services, and operations.\nThe Senior Audit Project Manager will lead complex audit engagements focused on Payment Services, ensuring compliance with internal audit standards and regulatory requirements. This role emphasizes project management, risk assessment, and collaboration across multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality audit results.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nAudit Planning & Risk Assessment\nDevelop and maintain a risk-based audit plan for Payment Services, including identifying auditable entities, assessing risk, and determining audit cycles and resource needs for a 12-18-month horizon.\n\nContinuously monitor emerging risks and adjust audit plans accordingly.\n\nAudit Execution & Quality Assurance\nManage end-to-end audit projects, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.\n\nReview work performed by auditors to ensure accuracy, relevance, and adherence to CAS policies and IIA Standards.\n\nDraft clear, concise audit reports that communicate findings and recommendations effectively.\n\nStakeholder Engagement\nBuild strong relationships with Payment Services leadership, risk management teams, and regulatory bodies.\n\nCollaborate across the three lines of defense to ensure comprehensive coverage of processes, risks, and controls.\n\nTeam Leadership & Development\nProvide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to audit staff.\n\nSupport recruiting, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.\n\nReporting & Governance\nPrepare and review reports for senior management, committees, and regulators to ensure accuracy and completeness.\n\nOther Duties\nAssist with cross-functional audit projects and special initiatives as needed.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience\n\nTypically more than 8 years of applicable experience\n\nPreferred Skills & Experience\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree or professional certification (CIA, CPA, CISA) preferred.\n\n8+ years of audit or risk management experience, with at least 3 years in project leadership roles.\n\nStrong knowledge of Payment Services industry risks, controls, and regulatory requirements.\n\nExcellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.\n\nProven ability to build collaborative relationships across business lines and risk functions.\n\nThorough understanding of IIA Standards and internal control frameworks.\n\n*This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.\nIf there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.\nBenefits:\nOur approach to benefits and total rewards considers our team members’ whole selves and what may be needed to thrive in and outside work.
