Try new things, learn new skills and discover what you excel at-all from Day One.\nJob Description\nThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nLocation expectations \nThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.\nU.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Software Asset Management Analyst to manage a portfolio of enterprise software publishers within our Software Asset Management organization. This individual will be responsible for software licensing, compliance, entitlement management, consumption analysis, forecasting, optimization, and lifecycle management in a large, complex technology environment.\n\nThis person will serve as a senior Software Asset Management practitioner for assigned software publishers and partner closely with technology owners, Product Owners, engineering teams, IT Asset Management Operations, governance teams, and software vendors. The successful candidate will use ServiceNow SAM Pro and other data sources to evaluate software license positions, remediate compliance risks, improve utilization, support audits and renewals, and identify opportunities to reduce cost.\n\nMain Responsibilities:\nOwn the end-to-end software asset lifecycle of assigned enterprise software portfolios.\nMonitor software entitlements, inventory, deployment, and consumption to maintain accurate licensing positions.\nIdentify and remediate software compliance gaps, overdeployment risks, underutilized licenses, and data discrepancies.\nAnalyze software usage and provide recommendations related to compliance, forecasting, renewals, optimization, and cost control.\nServe as a subject matter expert for assigned software publishers and advise stakeholders on licensing requirements and best practices.\nPartner with technical owners, Product Owners, engineering teams, operations teams, governance partners, finance teams, and software vendors.\nSupport software audits, risk assessments, control activities, and regulatory requirements.\nLead or participate in software rationalization, optimization, renewal, and end-of-life initiatives.\nInvestigate and resolve entitlement, inventory, consumption, and software asset data quality issues.\nCollaborate with operational teams responsible for software requests, purchasing, provisioning, inventory management, and retirement.\nImprove SAM processes, tooling, documentation, controls, and standard operating procedures.\nParticipate in enterprise initiatives affecting software licensing, asset management, or entitlement tracking.\nProvide reporting and analysis to technology leaders and other key stakeholders.\n\nMust Have Skills:\n5+ years of IT Asset Management experience in a large or complex enterprise environment.\n3+ years of direct Software Asset Management experience.\nHands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro.\nStrong understanding of software licensing, compliance, entitlements, consumption, and software asset lifecycle management.\nExperience managing or supporting enterprise software publisher portfolios.\nExperience identifying and remediating software licensing and compliance risks.\nExperience reconciling software entitlement, inventory, and consumption data.\nExperience supporting software governance, audit, risk, or control activities.\nDemonstrated ability to partner with technical owners, engineering teams, Product Owners, operational teams, and vendors.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to independently manage multiple priorities and drive work across cross-functional teams.\nNice to Have Skills:\nExperience managing Microsoft, Oracle, or IBM software portfolios.\nExperience with IBM sub-capacity licensing.\nExperience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Copilot, or Power Platform licensing.\nServiceNow SAM Pro implementation, configuration, or enhancement experience.\nExperience developing or improving ITAM or SAM processes and standard operating procedures.\nExperience working with Hardware Asset Management or CMDB teams.\nExperience supporting enterprise software audits and renewal negotiations.\nProject management or cross-functional initiative leadership experience.\nFinancial services or another highly regulated industry background.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience\nAt least 5 years experience with the processes, tools and guidelines for overseeing and optimizing the costs and revenues for IT services.\nAt least 5 years experience with management approaches, tools, and techniques for managing IT assets.\nAt least 5 years experience within a total Information Technology (IT) environment.\nIf there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.\nBenefits:\nOur approach to benefits and total rewards considers our team members’ whole selves and what may be needed to thrive in and outside work.
