To learn more about our work, please visit our website at www.refugees.org.\nOVERVIEW\nUSCRI seeks a Legal Assistant to assist with its Preferred Communities (“PC”) legal program serving Office of Refugee Resettlement eligible immigrants. The Legal Assistant will provide direct technical assistance and support to the Staff Attorney(s).\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nMonitor incoming communication and promptly respond to potential clients seeking legal support.\nMake appropriate referrals to other legal service providers and/or relevant community part-ners.\nCollaborate with Staff Attorney(s) to conduct intakes, assess client eligibility, and assist with application preparation as appropriate.\nPerform administrative, data-collection tasks, and reporting duties as assigned.\nMaintain basic knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and trends in law affecting target popu-lation.\nAll the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions.
