To learn more about our work, please visit our website at www.refugees.org.\nOVERVIEW\nUSCRI seeks a Supervising Attorney to assist with its Preferred Communities (“PC”) legal program serving Office of Refugee Resettlement eligible immigrants. The Supervising Attorney will contribute to the activities, supervision, and overall management of the program and provide direct representation to immigrant clients.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nProviding direct supervision and support to PC Staff Attorney and Legal Assistants in various locations of the United States.\nEnsure monthly data reports are submitted timely.\nConduct intakes and provide legal consultations to determine legal needs.\nPrepare and submit affirmative immigration applications for all forms of relief delineated by ORR including but not limited to: Adjustment of Status, Asylum, EADs, and TPS.\nMake appropriate referrals to other legal service providers and relevant community partners.\nConduct outreach, lead trainings, and participate in networking activities.\nOther responsibilities as assigned by Associate Director of Humanitarian Legal Services.\nAll the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions. All job duties indicated are not be considered an exhaustive statement and other job-related duties may be assigned as required by the supervisor(s).\nREQUIREMENTS\nJ.D. from an accredited law school.\nActive membership in good standing with a state bar association.\nMinimum 5 years of supervision experience, supervising Attorneys and/or staff.\nMinimum 7 years of immigration law experience.\nExcellent legal research, writing, and editing skills.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATOINS\nFluency in a second language.\nDemonstrated support for USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintaining confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
