Role & Responsibility:\nResponsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power the platform, ensuring reliability, performance, and with upstream and downstream systems, devices, and data sources.\nManage and optimise relational and non-relational databases, including schema design, query optimisation, and data integrity.\nDevelop data processing, transformation, and analytics services.\nImplement application monitoring, logging, and observability features to support system reliability and operational troubleshooting.\nTroubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues to ensure service reliability and performance.\nWork closely with frontend engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.\nImplement authentication, authorisation, and other security best practices in backend systems.\nSupport testing, deployment, and production operations activities.\nWrite clean, well-documented, and testable code, and participate in peer code reviews.\nMaintain technical documentation and system design artefacts.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.\nCollaborate effectively with team members to deliver solutions and support knowledge sharing across the project team.\nExperience & Skills Needed\nExperience in backend software development and building enterprise-grade applications.\nStrong programming proficiency in at least one of:PythonNode.jsJava\nExperience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices, and backend integration services.\nExperience with relational and NoSQL databases, including query optimisation, and data integrity management.\nExperience working with message queues, event-driven architectures, and system integration.\nKnowledge of software design patterns, enterprise application architecture, and secure coding practices.\nExperience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS.\nFamiliarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development practices.\nStrong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nSkills\nsystems reliability, Resolving Product Problems, Scalability, REST APIs development, Transformation, requirements from stakeholders, NoSQL, Cloud Deployment, Logging, Microservices Design, Relational
