Responsibilities:\nPlatform Architecture & Technical Leadership\nDefine and maintain the overall technical architecture, principles, standards, and roadmap for the FM Platform.\nLead the design and implementation of core platform capabilities, including authentication, single sign-on (SSO), role management, administration capabilities, workflow services, notifications, and shared platform components.\nProvide technical direction and governance across multiple delivery squads to ensure consistency, scalability, maintainability, and security.\nEstablish architecture review processes and technical standards for all platform and application development activities.\nApplication Modernisation & Migration\nLead technical discovery and assessment activities for existing FM applications and services.\nDevelop migration strategies, architecture patterns, and implementation plans for transitioning applications onto the FM Platform.\nGuide teams in modernizing selected applications and redesigning backend services where required.\nEnsure seamless integration and interoperability between platform services, migrated applications, and external systems.\nManage technical risks associated with migration, cutover, data integrity, and operational continuity.\nSoftware Engineering & Delivery\nLead solution design, technical implementation planning, and development execution across platform and application teams.\nReview solution designs, code, APIs, and technical deliverables to ensure quality and alignment with architecture standards.\nChampion engineering best practices including DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, observability, and infrastructure-as-code.\nTroubleshoot complex technical issues and provide hands-on support for critical architectural and integration challenges.\nDrive continual improvement of software delivery processes and platform reliability.\nCloud, Data & Integration\nDesign cloud-native solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.\nDefine integration patterns, API standards, event-driven architectures, and data exchange mechanisms.\nOversee platform infrastructure, environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and operational tooling.\nCollaborate with data and AI teams to support analytics, AI-powered services, automation capabilities, and enterprise reporting requirements.\nEnsure compliance with cybersecurity, governance, and data management requirements.\nStakeholder & Team Leadership\nPartner with product managers and service designers to translate user needs into technical solutions.\nEngage stakeholders to explain technical options, trade-offs, and delivery implications.\nMentor and coach engineers, fostering strong engineering and architectural capabilities across delivery squads.\nWork with vendors, consultants, and implementation partners where required.\nContribute to resource planning, technical staffing, capability development, and delivery governance.\nRequirements:\nExperience\nAt least 8 to 12 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or platform development roles.\nProven experience leading engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale digital platforms or mission-critical systems.\nExperience managing complex application modernization, migration, and integration programmes.\nStrong track record of delivering cloud-native solutions in agile environments.\nExperience working with public sector, enterprise platforms, or large-scale operational systems would be advantageous.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong understanding of enterprise architecture and distributed systems design.\nHands-on experience with Azure.\nExperience designing and implementing API-driven architectures and microservices.\nFamiliarity with authentication, identity management, RBAC, SSO, and enterprise security architectures.\nExperience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.\nKnowledge of data integration, analytics platforms, workflow engines, and AI-enabled applications would be an advantage.\nLeadership Competencies\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.\nAbility to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nPassion for building high-performing engineering teams and mentoring technical
