Tasks may include but are not limited to Electric motors, I/C Engines, Diesel Engines, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems. Capable of reading Schematics and following diagrams, operations and parts manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions.\n\nMust be able to schedule Mobile Equipment repairs with plant designated mobile equipment 3rd party contractor.\n\nMust be able to communicate to all affected employees the status of repairs through email and continuous improvement communication boards.\n\nMust be able to efficiently track equipment reliability, equipment down time, repairs costs, and assist in the fleet management.\n\nQualifications:\nSafety and housekeeping are the first consideration in all activities. The employee must consistently demonstrate an understanding/compliance of all plant & departmental safety rules, standards, and model programs.\n\nReport any unsafe condition or defective equipment to your supervisor immediately. Demonstrate knowledge of when, where and how to use standard and specialized personal protective equipment (PPE).\n\nMust be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for the position.\n\nMeet the essential physical requirements of the position. Negotiate steps and ladders.\n\nDemonstrate ability to protect himself/herself and co-workers from potential safety hazards.\n\nResponsible for performing all assignments as delegated by Supervisor.\n\nHave ability to understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision and efficiently and effectively perform assigned tasks.\n\nDemonstrate the ability to cooperate with other workers in the areas of safety, quality, and production/maintenance and understand importance of completing assigned tasks and their relationship to other requirements.\n\nMust have a mechanical aptitude with regard to fabrication, power/hand tool operations, welding/cutting operations, etc. and be flexible in the tasks performed.\n\nMust be able to pass the USG Mechanical Skills Assessment.\n\nMust be willing to pursue additional training if required to do so.\n\nMust have ability to safely operate plant mobile equipment.\n\nResponsible for maintaining a set of personal tools as required by the Engineering Maintenance Department and demonstrate capability of safely operating said tools.\n\nMust be a self-starter and complete tasks with little guidance or supervision.\n\nMust demonstrate good safety and attendance.\n\nMust be able to perform requirements of Reliability Performance Model and Continuous Improvement programs.\n\nTake an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.\n\nRate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.\nUSG employees enjoy a number of benefit options for themselves and their families.
