The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing key operational activities that support the engagement of Expert Volunteers and Government Liaisons, in compliance with USP Rules & Procedures to ensure a seamless and positive volunteer experience.\nHow will YOU create impact here at USP?\nAs part of our mission to advance scientific rigor and public health standards, you will play a vital role in increasing global access to high-quality medicines through public standards and related programs. This includes training in equitable management practices and tools to promote engaged, collaborative, and results-driven work environments.\nThe Volunteer Engagement Program Associate has the following responsibilities:\nWithin the approved budget, collaborate with the DSCP Senior Leadership Team to define, plan, and execute events that support delivery of the working plan.\nSupport engagement of USP Expert Volunteers, helping to build an engaged and connected global community within a hybrid working environment.\nServe as the engagement lead for USP Volunteers and Stakeholders, planning activities and supporting critical initiatives and major engagement events with up to 400 attendees through strategic and effective engagement tactics for groups representing diverse fields.\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders to incorporate their perspectives, knowledge, and expertise into the planning and implementation of engagement activities and events.\nConceptualize and implement engagement activities that include, but are not limited to, curating content, facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue, and planning events.\nMeasure the success of volunteer engagement during events by setting objectives, identifying critical metrics, tracking progress, and adjusting as needed.\nEnsure USP meetings and events are organized and implemented to meet stated goals and objectives and align with USP Core Values.\nServe as the lead and main point of contact for USP staff and external service providers for related activities.\nOwn and direct processes across Expert Volunteer Operations (EVO) functions related to expert volunteer and government liaison operations and engagement, including onboarding, training, compliance, participation, and governance-related activities; make day-to-day decisions and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.\nOwn the integrity of volunteer-related records, data (e.g. training), and reporting by establishing effective controls, monitoring performance, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance and accuracy.\nCollaborate with other team members to build and sustain volunteer engagement that balances priorities, adapts to different objectives and engagement preferences, and evolves to meet shifting goals, under the direction of the Volunteer Engagement Lead.\nAs part of the Volunteer Engagement Team, act as a backup for other team members to maintain business continuity when required.\nWho is USP Looking For?\nThe successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:\nBachelor’s degree Diploma or 3 years of professional experience working in health, global science environment.\n3 years of experience defining and executing strategy on large scale events.\nExperience developing and implementing strategies to enhance global volunteer experience, developing the next generation of volunteers.\nAdditional Desired Preferences\nExperience developing and implementing strategies to enhance the global volunteer experience. \nDemonstrated experience managing or coordinating groups of volunteers or experts.\nAbility to facilitate group interactions through interpersonal and tool-based skills to achieve project goals.\nExcellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and team-building skills in the management of cross functional teams.\nKnowledge of global pharmaceutical and healthcare industries and related trade associations.\nKnowledge of project planning and project management, with demonstrated initiative and successful management of multiple projects focused on outcomes.\nSuperior interpersonal skills: professionalism, accountability, helpfulness, delegation, and customer service.\nAgility - comfortable with change, adapting to new processes, objectives, or tactics.\nCuriosity - desire to grow understanding of issues, of volunteer membership, of functions within USP.\nWell-honed organizational, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and listening skills.\nStrength in collaboration and ability to influence and inspire in a matrixed organization.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.\nStrong time management skills.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nExcellent presentation and reporting skills.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nNone, this is an individual contributor role.\nBenefits\nUSP provides the benefits to protect yourself and your family today and tomorrow.
