You will work across complex application environments, resolving production issues while developing automated solutions that reduce manual effort and improve platform stability.\nThe Role\nAs a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will:\nProvide application and production support across complex environments.Implement and embed SRE best practices into day-to-day operations.Manage and troubleshoot incidents, escalations and recurring production problems.Develop automated solutions to eliminate repetitive manual work and reduce operational toil.Identify opportunities to improve resilience, observability, automation and platform stability.Review SRE metrics and ensure they align with organisational and departmental goals.Troubleshoot infrastructure, application and user-related incidents.Work closely with infrastructure, networking, security, storage, database and data centre teams.Develop reusable infrastructure design patterns and supporting technical documentation.Support the onboarding of third-party technologies in line with security and infrastructure standards.Support capacity planning and performance tuning activities.Participate in an on-call and weekend support rota.What We're Looking For\nYou will bring strong hands-on experience across SRE, infrastructure and production environments, including:\nLinux & Infrastructure\nAdvanced Linux 8.x experience, with the source specifying five years of hands-on experience.\nStrong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.\nUnderstanding of networking and storage technologies.\nExperience supporting secure, web-based, n-tier applications. \nSRE, Automation & Observability\nStrong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles.\nExperience troubleshooting application issues and managing production incidents.\nScripting and automation experience using Python and Shell.\nExperience or exposure to OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and Ansible.\nA strong focus on toil reduction, automation, resiliency and observability.Containers & Application Platforms\nHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of SaaS platform integration.Experience with web servers such as Apache and Nginx.Experience with application servers including Tomcat and JBoss, covering configuration, integration and troubleshooting.
