What we’re looking forEssentialStrong Java programming skills with deep knowledge of building production-grade APIs and distributed systems.Solid understanding of all stages in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ability to contribute across the full lifecycle.Deep understanding of design patterns and principles (e.g., SOLID principles, microservices patterns).Experience with multiple testing types: Unit Testing, API Testing, Acceptance Testing, and Load Testing.Experience with distributed architectures such as SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) or MSA (Microservices Architecture).Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures and REST APIs.Strong grasp of the “build it, own it, run it” DevOps model-you take responsibility for design, deployment, and maintenance of your solutions.\nExperience with build tools like Gradle or Maven and Enterprise Jenkins for CI/CD.\nProven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).\nComfortable operating independently in a fast-moving program and contributing from day one.\nGood engineering practices as second nature: API design, automated testing, observability, documentation, and secure-by-default delivery.\nNice to have\nRelevant experience with AWS services and AWS certifications.\nExperience working in highly regulated environments, particularly banking and financial services.\nExperience with Docker and containerization.\nExperience with serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate).\nFamiliarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.Experience building and maintaining internal developer platforms or tools.What you’ll be likeA hands-on engineer with a builder’s mindset, happy close to the code and shipping practical capability.Passionate about software quality, performance, and responsiveness of applications.Opinionated about good application development, and able to turn that judgement into patterns others can follow.Pragmatic and self-sufficient, able to make progress where priorities shift and drive solutions end-to-end.Security- and automation-conscious.
