In this role, you be responsible for the 2nd/3rd line of support for our core infrastructure, including email platforms, virtualisation environments, storage infrastructure, and network services. You will work closely with senior engineers to maintain and improve server and network environments.\nYou will also take a technical lead role on infrastructure projects, including researching, evaluating, and recommending new and emerging technologies that support operational efficiency, resilience, and future business requirements. The role will provide the opportunity for global collaboration on IT infrastructure and emerging technologies.\nResponsibilities\nSupport and maintain virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere, Hyper V, Morpheus. Deploy, configure, and monitor virtual machines and hosts.\nPerform capacity planning, resource optimisation, and patch management.\nStorage, administration of SAN/NAS storage systems, including provisioning, performance tuning, and monitoring. Ensure data integrity, backup operations, and disaster recovery.\nSupport LAN/WAN infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.\nMonitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and maintain network security.\nAssist with network upgrades, configuration changes, and documentation.\nEmail & Messaging Systems\nAdminister and support enterprise email platforms (e.g., Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, M365).\nLead and contribute on infrastructure projects, including technology evaluations, system upgrades, migrations, and service improvements.\nProvide 2nd/3rd line support for escalated incidents and service requests.\nMaintain system documentation, diagrams, and standard operational procedures.\nManage user accounts, security groups, and GPOs within Active Directory.\nAct in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times.\n Relevant certifications such as:\nMicrosoft (MCSA/MCSE)\nCisco CCNA/CCNP\nCompTIA Network+ / Server+ / Security+\nOr equivalent professional experience.\nExperience\nMinimum of 1-2 years in 2rd-3rd line roles supporting IT Infrastructure or Systems.\nHands on experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper V).\nExperience supporting storage platforms (Dell EMC, NetApp or similar).\nFamiliarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery concepts.\nExperience supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Exchange Server, and enterprise email and messaging systems.\nNetworking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).\nSkills\nMicrosoft Server technologies with an understanding of AD, DHCP, GPO.\nExperience with monitoring tools and infrastructure management platforms.\nFamiliarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery concepts.\nAbility to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple domains.\nExcellent communication, documentation and technical writing skills.\nPersonal Behaviours\nStrong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.\nProactive and self-motivated approach to problem resolution.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nCustomer focused approach with a commitment to service excellence.\nAdaptable and willing to learn emerging technologies.\nOther\nFlexibility to travel as and when required\nFull UK driving licence\nWilling to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check\nSC clearance or ability to achieve this if not already held (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years)\n For you, as a potential UTAC team member, we believe that the international and diverse nature of our business combined with the passion, energy and friendliness of our people create a great place to work.
