This role is hands-on and will support both strategic and operational procurement activities - ensuring best value, compliance, and efficiency across the supply base.\nThe position will champion two primary objectives:\nAnnualised savings achievement, through strong commercial negotiation and category management.\nSupply chain consolidation and rationalisation, to improve quality, reduce cost base, and enhance resilience.\nThis role is well-suited to someone who shows initiative, numerical strength, and a desire to contribute significant business value.\nResponsibilities\nLead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of indirect procurement categories across multiple UK and international stakeholders.\nSupport and oversee CapEx procurement aligned with engineering and project requirements.\nDeliver measurable annualised cost savings targets and support supplier base optimisation.\nDrive supplier consolidation strategies to enhance quality, reduce complexity, and improve buying efficiency. · Administer Purchase Orders, supplier onboarding, and data accuracy within ERP systems.\nGenerate monthly procurement performance and spend reports; analyse data to identify opportunities.\nManage supplier contract administration and compliance with internal governance standards.\nProactively engage with internal project, engineering, operations, finance, and leadership teams.\nMaintain a strong focus on continuous improvement and support global procurement transformation initiatives.\nFoster a culture of accountability and high personal performance in alignment with company values.\nSupport a wide variety of company initiatives and programmes to completion.\nAct in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times.\nPerson Specification\nSkils & Experience\nEssential:\nProcurement or supply chain experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or regulated environment.\nDemonstrated negotiation skills and commercial awareness.\nStrong numeracy and analytical capability.\nAble to manage multiple simultaneous priorities with high levels of ownership.\nAbility to influence stakeholders and drive change.\nDesirable:\nExperience in automotive, aerospace, defence, or industrial testing sectors.\nFamiliarity with Oracle and/or Sage ERP platforms.\nExperience supporting CapEx procurement.\nCIPS qualification (or progression toward it)\nPersonal Behaviours\nSelf-motivated and proactive - thrives in an environment of change.\nConfident communicator able to motivate and challenge the status quo.\nDetail-oriented, structured, and committed to accuracy.\nStrong relationship builder with a collaborative approach.\nEnjoys taking accountability for measurable outcomes.\n Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or relevant discipline preferred.\nEquivalent professional experience also valued.\nOther\nFlexibility to travel as and when required\nFull UK driving license\nWilling to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check\n For you, as a potential UTAC team member, we believe that the international and diverse nature of our business combined with the passion, energy and friendliness of our people create a great place to work.
