DevOps Engineer (Azure)

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications in Azure environments.
• Create and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD build and release pipelines.
• Assist development teams with automated deployments and environment configurations.
• Monitor application health, system performance, and infrastructure alerts.
• Configure and manage Azure resources such as App Services, Azure SQL Databases, Storage Accounts, and Virtual Machines.
• Help manage source control repositories and branching strategies in Azure DevOps/Git.
• Support infrastructure automation using PowerShell, ARM Templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Troubleshoot deployment failures, environment issues, and application outages.
• Assist in implementing security best practices, access management, and backup strategies.
• Participate in release planning, deployment activities, and production support.
• Maintain technical documentation for environments, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and support teams to ensure smooth software delivery.
• Support monitoring and logging solutions such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
• Assist in database deployment, backup, restore, and environment synchronization activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud platform and services.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps for build and release pipeline creation.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and deployment automation.
• Familiarity with Git version control and branching strategies.
• Basic knowledge of Azure services such as: Azure App Services Azure SQL Database Azure Storage Account Azure Functions Azure Virtual Machines
• Understanding of deployment environments such as Development, UAT, and Production.
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Familiarity with IIS, Windows Server, or Linux server administration.
• Understanding of REST APIs and application configuration management.
• Ability to troubleshoot deployment and environment-related issues.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn cloud technologies and DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization concepts. Exposure to Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Application Insights and Azure Monitor.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, DNS, SSL, VPN, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of database deployment and Azure SQL performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with automated testing and release approval workflows.
• Understanding of security best practices and identity management in Azure.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
