Reporting to the Director of Project\nDevelopment, this role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Business\nDevelopment, and Projects and plays a meaningful role in shaping technically\nsound, commercially competitive proposals.\nThis position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys creative problem-solving, working\nacross disciplines, and contributing to early project definition. This role focuses on\nfront-end loading (FEL), process simulation, and feasibility evaluations, that form\nthe basis of proposals.\nThis role is based in Houston, TX and requires approximately 20-25% travel,\nincluding international.\nKey Responsibilities\nProposal Development\nDevelop customer-specific technical and economic proposals using process\nsimulation tools (ProMax preferred).\nPerform CAPEX, OPEX, and Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) evaluations.\nPrepare technical documentation and respond to clarifications during proposal\nevaluations.\nImprove internal tools, workflows, and assumptions to enhance efficiency and\naccuracy.\nFront-End Loading (FEL) & Feasibility Support\nAssist in developing FEL deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, equipment\nspecifications, and preliminary cost and schedule estimates.\nWork with process, mechanical, and project engineering teams to ensure scope,\nschedule, and budget are met.\nRisk & Safety Involvement\nParticipate in identification of technical risks and development of mitigation\nstrategies\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nWork closely with Engineering, Finance, Projects, Business Development, and\nSupply Chain teams to align technical solutions with commercial objectives.\nApply industry best practices and lessons learned to continuously improve\nproposal and FEL development processes.\nCandidate Profile\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.\nMinimum 5 years of engineering experience, with exposure to feasibility studies, FEL execution, or technical proposal development.\nStrong foundation in core engineering principles (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer).\nFamiliarity with process simulation and design tools such as ProMax (preferred), Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UNISIM\nExperience producing engineering deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and cost or schedule inputs.\nSolid analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.\nAbility to work effectively in the ambiguity typical of early-stage and first-of-a-kind projects.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred\nDevelop customer-specific technical and economic proposals using process simulation tools (ProMax preferred).\nExperience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, industrial gases, hydrogen, or related energy industries.\nProficiency with tools such as Visio and Bluebeam (or similar).\nWorking knowledge of project management fundamentals, including scope definition, cost estimates, and
