We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.\nThis person will work with a team of engineers and technicians assisting with the handling, testing, and development of energetic materials and devices for the Energetics and Warheads Directorate at Picatinny Arsenal. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with hazardous materials.\nWhat will you be doing?\nThis position will be a key member of the technical team. Duties include:\nHandle, store, and transport explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics in accordance with all safety regulations.\nAssist in the setup and execution of explosive tests and experiments.\nAssemble, disassemble, and modify experimental explosive and ordnance systems.\nPerform diagnostic testing and record data using various instrumentation.\nOperate and maintain equipment used for mixing, handling, and testing energetic materials.\nConduct pre- and post-test inspections and document findings accurately.\nConfer with engineers and other technicians to ensure procedures are followed and to resolve any technical problems.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in laboratories and at test sites.\nWhat skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?\nThis position will require the following skillsets and experience:\nMust be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance through the DoD security background investigation process\nPass drug and alcohol testing\nMust have good mechanical skills and at minimum 5 years of experience\nExperience in handling explosives, ammunition, or other hazardous materials is highly desirable.\nKnowledge of DoD and Army safety regulations for explosives (e.g., DoD 4145.26-M) is a plus.\nHigh standard of quality and efficiency with an unwavering focus on safety.\nMust be physically able to handle materials up to 50 lbs and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nHigh School diploma plus 5 years experience required; certification from a military or civilian EOD/UXO school is beneficial.\nPast or present military personnel are encouraged to apply.\nMust have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license.\nBasic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word).\nMust be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills\nKnowledge of weapons and firearms a plus\nMust be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly\nMust have a valid NJ driver’s license\nRead about our benefits here: Our Benefits - UTRS |Always, Got Your Back\nUTRS is an Equal Opportunity employer.
