We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.\nThis person is responsible for CNC milling operations. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.\nWhat will you be doing?\nThis position will be a key member of the Prototype Engineering team. Duties include:\nTechnician to work CNC Milling operations\nInserting raw materials (metal, plastic) into the mill’s vise or fixtures, and removing finished parts\nRunning pre-programmed sequences by operating the CNC control panel under supervision\nUsing hand tools, files, or tumbling machines to remove sharp edges, burrs, and excess material from freshly machined parts\nBe able to complete in-process inspections in open setup (mics, calipers, thread measurements) and optical comparator (angles and overlays)\nBe able to inspect parts coming off CNC machines for visual defects and workmanship\nExperience interpreting blueprints, beginner knowledge of GD&T\nStaging raw stock and moving heavy materials using pallet jacks, hoists, or forklifts\nMaintain traceability on material alloys and raw materials being machined for each job\nLoading designated cutting tools (end mills, drills, taps) into tool holders and placing them into the machine’s tool carousel\nCleaning the machine bed and assisting in mounting vises, clamps, or custom fixtures needed for the next job\nMaintain CNC machines, including basic maintenance, and workspace professionalism\nBasic computer skills to enter inspection data, JobBOSS, etc.\nWork and communicate well with a team of Engineers and Technicians to efficiently complete assigned tasks\n\nWhat skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?\nThis position will require the following skillsets and experience:\nMust be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process\n\nExperience: 1-3 years of experience operating CNC machinery\n\nLooking for independently capable (work experience can vary if the applicant is proficient)\nPass drug and alcohol testing\nMust have good mechanical skills and experience\nHigh standard of quality and efficiency\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills\nAny milling/other MFG experience would be beneficial\nSolid knowledge of shop mathematics\nMust be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly\nBasic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\nMust be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy object\nMust be a US Citizen\nMust have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license\nHigh School diploma required, College degree not required but beneficial\nPast or present military personnel are encouraged to apply\nRead about our benefits here: Our Benefits - UTRS |Always, Got Your Back\nUTRS is an Equal Opportunity employer.
