We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.\nThis position will be a full-time position available, in Picatinny Arsenal, for a Manufacturing Technician who will be responsible for operating manufacturing and production equipment, preparing and cleaning manufactured components, performing routine dimensional inspections, maintaining inventory, and supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations. The technician works closely with machinists, engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to ensure parts are produced, processed, inspected, and documented in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.\nWhat will you be doing?\nThis position will be a key member of DEVCOM AC.\nDuties include:\nOperate manufacturing equipment, cleaning equipment, and other related production equipment in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.\nLoad, unload, stage, and transfer materials and components throughout the manufacturing process.\nPerform cleaning, deburring, washing, drying, and other required secondary operations on manufactured components.\nConduct routine dimensional spot checks using common inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools.\nRecord inspection results and production information accurately and maintain required documentation.\nIdentify and report dimensional, visual, or process-related issues to the appropriate technician, machinist, engineer, or supervisor.\nMaintain accurate inventory of raw materials, components, tooling, consumables, and finished parts.\nPerform material counts and reconcile physical inventory with inventory records.\nProperly identify, label, package, and store parts and materials to prevent damage, loss, or mix-ups.\nAssist with machine and equipment setup, changeovers, routine adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.\nPerform routine operator-level equipment maintenance and housekeeping.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with established safety procedures.\nFollow manufacturing travelers, work instructions, drawings, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.\nAssist machinists, engineers, and other manufacturing personnel with production and prototype activities as required.\nRecognize abnormal equipment operation or process conditions and promptly notify appropriate personnel.\nParticipate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and process efficiency.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nWhat skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?\nThis position will require the following skillsets and experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMechanical aptitude and the ability to understand basic manufacturing processes.\nAbility to read and follow written work instructions, procedures, and basic engineering drawings.\nBasic understanding of dimensional measurement and inspection practices.\nAbility to use common hand tools and measurement equipment.\nBasic computer skills and ability to enter and maintain production or inventory information.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.\nAbility to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a manufacturing team.\nAbility to safely operate manufacturing equipment after appropriate training.\nPrevious experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, fabrication, production, or inspection environment.\nExperience operating CNC or other automated manufacturing equipment.\nExperience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or other precision measurement equipment.\nExperience with inventory control or manufacturing tracking systems.\nFamiliarity with engineering drawings, tolerances, and basic GD&T concepts.\nExperience performing part cleaning, deburring, finishing, or other secondary manufacturing operations.\nTechnical school, vocational training, or relevant manufacturing certification.\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods while performing manufacturing activities.\nAbility to lift and move materials and components within established safety limits.\nAbility to perform repetitive manufacturing and inspection tasks.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment.\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery, tooling, chemicals, noise, and other normal shop conditions.\nMust be US Citizen.\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\nKey Performance Expectations?\nThe successful technician is expected to:\nOperate equipment safely and consistently.\nProduce work that meets established quality requirements.\nAccurately perform and document dimensional spot checks.\nMaintain accurate inventory and production records.\nFollow established procedures and work instructions.\nIdentify and communicate problems before they negatively affect quality or production.\nMaintain an organized and safe work area.\nDemonstrate increasing technical knowledge and independence as experience is gained.\n\nRead about our benefits here: Our Benefits - UTRS |Always, Got Your Back\nUTRS is an Equal Opportunity employer.
