We encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our vibrant campus community today!\nAt the University of Wyoming, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching workplace.\nJOB TITLE:\nVan Driver\nJOB PURPOSE:\nSafely transport passengers for the SafeRide and/or Paratransit services that provide transportation on an “on-demand” basis.\nDEMAND RESPONSE DETAILS:\nParatransit: provides complementary ADA transportation for those with disabilities.\nHours of operations: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 7:00pm\nSafeRide: provides alternate night and weekend public transportation\nHours of operations: *reduced hours of operations during summer\nMonday - Wednesday 6:00pm - 12:30am\nThursday & Friday 6:00pm - 3:00am\nSaturday 11:30am - 6:30pm; 9:30pm - 3:00am\nSunday 11:30am - 6:30pm\nScheduling:\nIdeal position for college students or those needing flexibility in scheduling\nEmployees can work one or both services\nScheduling is based on an availability matrix and is discussed in the interview\nPay: $16.35 - $16.85/hr, depending on service\nCompetitive pay raises\nPaid training \nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSafely operate UW transit vehicles to include the transportation of passengers, and operate ADA equipment.\nPerform safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe parameters. Maintain inventory of equipment. \nAssist with shop and vehicle cleaning.\nOrient and train new employees as required.\nProvide excellent customer service, offer assistance and answer questions from passengers as required. \nAll other duties as assigned. \nSUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:\nLimited dispatch opportunities, can be discussed if interested.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\n*Preference will be given to applicants that have night availability from 9:30pm - 3:00am\nEducation: High School Diploma or GED\nOther requirements:\nMust be 18 years of age\n Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with theDriving for University Business SAP.\nA CDL license is NOT required for the position.\nMust be able to comply with the University Drug & Alcohol Policy.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
