Performs operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to electrical distribution equipment and maintains the facility’s physical electrical distribution system in good condition.\nResponsibilities\nInstallation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.\nInstalling or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.\nWorking from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.\nLocating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.\nWorking standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.\nInspects, maintains, and repairs medium voltage (3-phase / 50Hz / 20kV & 10kV) and low voltage (3-phase / 50Hz / 0.4kV) power distribution systems, sub stations, transformers, circuit breakers, switches, fused disconnects insulators, grounding systems, above and underground systems, security, and interior / exterior lighting systems.\nDiagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.\nWorking knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems and equipment (MV circuit breakers, SEL protection relays, CTs, VTs), lightning and grounding protection system, interior / exterior lighting systems.\nKnowledge of MIL Standards and DOD customers is required.
