Receives general direction or new assignment aspects and instructions as to how to perform required tasks and results expected.\nResponsibilities\nThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. \nOperates material handling heavy equipment as required to receive, store, process orders and ship material.\nOperate light and heavy equipment for loading and unloading of pallets.\nAssist shipping clerk in palletizing of supplies and equipment.\nAssist shipping clerk in the processing of required documentation to include an inventory of equipment that will be shipped out.\nMonitor and perform preventive measures to assigned equipment.\nPerforms other duties and assignments as required.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nA US driver’s license is required to operate heavy machinery\nObtain operator license for motorized pallet jack (walkie-rider)\nExperience:\nWork requires two (2) years of shipping, receiving, stocking and warehousing experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education.\nMaterial Handling Equipment experience and training from a recognized institution.\nProgram Specific Requirements:\nPossess knowledge of safety and environmental issues.\nPrior military experience a plus but not mandatory.\nAble to communicate with customer.\nWorking Environment:\nThe worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.\nThe worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.\nThe worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.\nThe worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.\nThe worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.\nThe worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMedium work.
