This mid-level role plays a key part in sustaining mission-critical communications systems by monitoring network health, responding to incidents, and executing approved changes and maintenance activities. The Journeyman Network Operations Technician supports the configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.\nPosition will be located at Pituffik SB.\nThis position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X.\n#clearance\nResponsibilities\nMajor Job Activities:\nMulti-disciplined network technician with experience observing legacy network behavior and comparing against baseline performance.\nCreates and responds to incident tickets and performs network triage per SOPs and knowledge articles.\nResponsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software, or system functional specifications.\nAnalyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with IT infrastructure, including user systems, servers, storage, and network connectivity.\nProvides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users.\nApply security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment.\nSupports new infrastructure projects.\nMaintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.\nPerforms system patching and IAVA patches to network routers and switches.\nPerforms Cisco or equivalent and software upgrades.\nDevelops and updates configuration templates for switch and router installs.\nApplies configuration templates for initial switch and router installs.\nTroubleshoot systems document failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services.\nMonitors network performance against current outages.\nDevelops and leverages network TTPs and SOPs to close tickets.\nProvides training as required on network operations TTPs and SOPs.\nSupports engineering designs data calls.\nSupports new / enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.\nWorks independently with some supervision.
