We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.\nAs a part of the V2X Ground-Based Radar Development (GBRD) team, we are a part of an exciting opportunity to design and field a Common Radar Back End supporting UEWR, PARCS, COBRA DANE, and AN/FPS 85 radar sites.\nResponsibilities\nWe are seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join a team of engineers and provide technical leadership across requirements, architecture, integration, test, and fielding for modernization of strategic radar systems across multiple integration laboratories serving operational radar sites.\nThis position spans the full lifecycle from early requirements (Gate 1) through design and prototyping (Gate 2) to site installation, DT&E/OT&E, and sustainment transition (Gate 3).\nKey Responsibilities\nLead development, decomposition, allocation, and maintenance of system, subsystem, interface, and site-level requirements.\nDefine and maintain the overall system architecture in coordination with software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, and specialty engineering leads.\nMaintain requirements traceability from customer objectives and source requirements through design, implementation, verification, and validation.\nDevelop system architecture diagrams, interface definitions, functional flows, technical baselines, and design decision documentation.\nLead technical trade studies and evaluate alternatives based on performance, cost, schedule, risk, supportability, and lifecycle impact.\nCoordinate subsystem integration and ensure hardware, software, network, storage, operating system, and platform components operate as an integrated system.\nSupport and oversee laboratory integration, system checkout, site integration, and transition from development environments to operational locations.\nSupport and maintain integration strategies, verification plans, validation plans, interface control documentation, and technical review packages.\nLead technical preparation for System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review, and other engineering reviews.\nCoordinate technical issue resolution, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, retest, and closure of engineering findings.\nSupport developmental and operational test activities, including test planning, readiness assessments, discrepancy resolution, and verification of requirements.\nEnsure system designs account for reliability, availability, maintainability, scalability, redundancy, supportability, and degraded-mode operation.\nCoordinate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure approved security requirements and controls are incorporated into the system design and verification approach.\nProvide technical input to installation procedures, operator and maintainer documentation, training materials, and sustainment planning.\nIdentify and communicate technical risks, assumptions, dependencies, constraints, and decisions to program and engineering stakeholders.\nQualifications\nEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:\nEngineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline and at least 10 years of relevant experience.\nAn advanced degree in a related discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience may be accepted.\nAdditional directly relevant systems engineering experience may be considered in place of a degree or generalized experience.\nRequired Skills:\nMinimum 10 years related experience\nDemonstrated experience leading systems engineering activities for complex hardware and software systems.\nExperience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture, interface definition, integration, verification, validation, and transition to operations or sustainment.\nExperience developing and maintaining system and subsystem requirements with bidirectional traceability.\nExperience producing system architecture products, functional diagrams, interface documentation, trade studies, technical baselines, and engineering review materials.\nHands-on experience supporting laboratory or field integration of complex networked hardware and software systems.\nExperience planning or supporting system verification, validation, test readiness, discrepancy resolution, and corrective-action closure.\nAbility to identify technical risks, evaluate alternatives, make supportable engineering recommendations, and communicate decisions clearly.\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and technical collaboration tools.\nAbility to support occasional CONUS, OCONUS site travel.\nU.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.\nDesired Skills:\nExperience with ground-based radar, missile defense, space surveillance, command-and-control, sensor, or other mission-critical systems.\nExperience with Upgraded Early Warning Radar, Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System, COBRA DANE, AN/FPS-85, or comparable radar systems.\nExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and methods such as Cameo, Rhapsody, SysML, or equivalent.\nExperience with requirements-management tools such as IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS, DOORS Next, Jama, or equivalent.\nFamiliarity with Modular Open Systems Approach principles, open architectures, modular interfaces, and Government-owned interface definitions.\nWorking knowledge of Linux-based computing platforms.\nExperience with Digital Systems Integration Laboratories, integration test facilities, or lab-to-site transition programs.\nFamiliarity with configuration management, technical data packages, engineering change control, and digital engineering environments.\nExperience supporting installation, checkout, acceptance testing, or operational cutover at remote or mission-critical sites.\nRelevant certification such as INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, ESEP, or equivalent systems engineering credential.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing customers, program leadership, and technical review boards.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and coordinating work across software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, test, logistics, and operations functions.\nAt V2X, we are deeply committed to both equal employment opportunity, including protection for Veterans
