Monitors employees as they prepare internal/exterior surfaces as required to remove rust/unserviceable paint coatings. Performs and supervises Corrosion Prevention Control procedures as required to restore facilities and equipment to applicable standards. Ensures employees apply Pre-treatment, Primer & Paint as required to meet applicable standards. Handles & disposes of Hazardous Materials IAW rules and regulations.\nResponsibilities\nThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.\nSupervises painting on a variety of facilities and equipment. Prepares surfaces as needed i.e., masking/taping, painting, de-masking/touch-up, and stenciling\nPerforms and oversees Corrosion Prevention Control procedures as required to restore facilities and equipment to applicable standards. Prepares facilities and equipment surfaces for primer/ paint by removing rust, unserviceable paint/primer coatings to include pressure washing, chipping, sanding, and/or sandblasting.\nEstablishes and maintains a tracking mechanism to ensure required facilities and equipment are on the cyclic Corrosion Prevention Control Plan\nMaintains paint room and sets up, adjusts, and performs minor maintenance on painting equipment.\nPerforms other duties as required.\nQualifications\nMinimum QualificationsEducation/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.\nHigh School graduate or equivalent.\nMust possess a valid US driver’s license\n\n Experience:Five (5) years of painting experience of various facilities and equipment.\nTwo (2) years of supervising painting of various facilities and equipment.\nCorrosion control experience preferred.\nProficient in the use of all required respirators & Personal Protective Equipment.\nExperience in Hazardous Material Handling & Disposal.\nPossess or be able to acquire/maintain Government driver’s license.\nProficient in the use of Army Technical Manuals.\nProficient in Paint Booth, Paint Gun, Paint Pot, Paint Shaker operations/maintenance.\n\nSkills:Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork.\nAbility to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers.\nAbility to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.\nHighly proficient in English, both verbally and written.\nBasic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.\nHigh-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.\nAbility to read, analyzes, and interprets reports and documents.\n\n Working Environment:Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.\nMust be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.\nIndoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).\nIncludes some industrial production environment conditions as well.\nThe worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.\n\n Physical Requirements:Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nWork may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.\nEmployee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations.
