We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.\nAs a part of the V2X Ground-Based Radar Development (GBRD) team, we are a part of an exciting opportunity to design and field a Common Radar Back End supporting UEWR, PARCS, COBRA DANE, and AN/FPS-85 radar sites.\nResponsibilities\nWe are seeking a Senior Network Architect to design and mature the network architecture that underpins GBRD’s mission systems, labs, and operational radar sites. This role is central to enabling a secure, resilient, MOSA-aligned back-end platform hosting containerized radar applications and integrating with multiple integration laboratories serving operational radar sites.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain network architecture for development laboratories, systems integration environments, computing platforms, and operational radar sites.\nDefine network requirements for routing, switching, segmentation, redundancy, availability, latency, throughput, quality of service, multicast, timing, and future growth.\nDesign secure Internet Protocol network solutions using routers, switches, firewalls, virtual private networks, load balancers, and network management services.\nIdentify and eliminate single points of failures (SPOF) when possible.\nDevelop logical and physical network diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, port assignments, addressing plans, interface definitions, and implementation packages.\nDevelop and maintain network configuration standards, device templates, naming conventions, backup procedures, and configuration-controlled baseline documentation.\nDesign and validate high-availability and failover capabilities using appropriate routing, switching, link aggregation, gateway redundancy, and path-diversity technologies.\nCoordinate network interfaces with compute, storage, virtualization, container platforms, software applications, cybersecurity tools, and external mission systems.\nSupport network design for containerized and virtualized environments, including cluster networking, service communication, ingress, egress, load balancing, and network policy enforcement.\nPlan and lead laboratory integration, site installation, cutover, fallback, checkout, acceptance testing, and transition to operations.\nDevelop network integration and test procedures and support troubleshooting, fault isolation, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and retest.\nMonitor and evaluate network performance, utilization, availability, faults, and capacity using approved network management and telemetry tools.\nSupport centralized logging, time synchronization, audit collection, configuration monitoring, and network telemetry integration.\nCoordinate with cybersecurity personnel to implement approved segmentation, access-control, encryption, identity, authentication, hardening, and monitoring requirements.\nProvide network design artifacts and technical evidence in support of security assessments and authorization activities.\nEvaluate hardware and software alternatives and provide recommendations based on technical performance, interoperability, lifecycle support, supply-chain risk, cost, and schedule.\nSupport technical reviews and clearly communicate network status, risks, dependencies, issues, and design decisions to engineering and program stakeholders.\nSupport occasional travel to integration facilities & operational sites.\nQualifications\nEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:\nBachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related technical discipline and at least 7 years of relevant experience.\nAn advanced degree in a related discipline and at least 4 years of relevant experience may be accepted.\nAdditional directly relevant network engineering experience may be considered in place of a degree or generalized experience.\nRequired Qualifications:\nMinimum 8 years related experience\nStrong knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol networking, subnetting, Virtual Local Area Networks, routing, switching, multicast, Domain Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Network Time Protocol, and network management.\nHands-on experience with routing protocols and redundancy technologies such as Border Gateway Protocol, Open Shortest Path First, Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol, Hot Standby Router Protocol, Spanning Tree Protocol, and link aggregation.\nExperience designing segmented networks using routers, switches, firewalls, access-control lists, virtual private networks, and network security zones.\nExperience developing network diagrams, addressing plans, interface control information, equipment lists, cable schedules, port maps, and implementation instructions.\nExperience with network monitoring, packet capture, performance analysis, fault isolation, configuration backup, and capacity planning.\nExperience planning or supporting network migration, installation, cutover, rollback, verification, and acceptance activities.\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio or equivalent.\nAbility to support occasional CONUS, OCONUS, site travel.\nU.S. citizenship with active DoD Secret security clearance.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience supporting radar, missile defense, space surveillance, command-and-control, sensor, weapon, or other mission-critical systems.\nExperience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, F5, or comparable enterprise network technologies.\nExperience with network automation and configuration management using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or comparable tools.\nExperience with Software-Defined Networking, network virtualization, software-defined wide area networking, or infrastructure-as-code practices.\nExperience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, container networking interfaces, service meshes, ingress controllers, and network policies.\nExperience with classified networks, cross-domain interfaces, disconnected or degraded environments, and highly regulated Government systems.\nFamiliarity with Modular Open Systems Approach principles, open architectures, and Government-owned interface definitions.\nFamiliarity with Risk Management Framework activities, NIST SP 800-53 controls, Security Technical Implementation Guides, Zero Trust principles, and cybersecurity assessment evidence.\nExperience with Digital Systems Integration Laboratories, integration test facilities, or lab-to-site transition programs.\nExperience with network modeling, simulation, performance analysis, or digital engineering tools.\nRelevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, Network+, CISSP, or equivalent.\nAbility to coordinate technical work across systems, software, cybersecurity, hardware, test, installation, and operations teams.\nAbility to translate system and mission requirements into network designs and testable technical requirements.\nExperience configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting network devices in operational environments.\nAt V2X, we are deeply committed to both equal employment opportunity, including protection for Veterans and individuals with disabilities, and fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We ensure all individuals are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity, recognizing the strength that comes from a workforce rich in diverse experiences, perspectives, and skills.
