We are looking for a Surface Prep Technician (1st shift) to support the Modernization and Sustainment site in Indianapolis, Indiana.\nResponsibilities\nRemoves coatings, excess material, and surface defects from items using revolving abrasive wheels, belts, and other specialized tools.\nBlends surface imperfections and coatings to achieve a uniform appearance.\nPrepares surfaces for subsequent processes, ensuring proper adhesion and finish quality.\nSmooths surfaces and produces specified finishes by using appropriate techniques and equipment.\nSelects abrasive materials, tools, and equipment according to the type of material, finish specification, and coating being removed.\nReplaces worn abrasive materials and tools.\nExamines parts for acceptability of finish and conformance to specifications.\nMay be designated according to the type of material or process performed.\nQualifications\nHS Diploma or GED equivalent.\nMinimum 0-2 years of related experience.\nAbility to read and interpret prints, drawings, process routings, and specifications.\nThorough knowledge of various types of metals, plastics, and other materials and their reactions to surface preparation operations.\nKnowledge of surface preparation techniques, abrasive materials, coating removal methods, and blending techniques.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.\nBenefits include the following:\nHealthcare coverage\nRetirement plan\nLife insurance, AD&D, and disability benefits\nWellness programs\nPaid time off, including holidays\nLearning and Development resources\nEmployee assistance resources\nPay and benefits are subject to change at any time and may be modified at the discretion of the company, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.\nAt V2X, we are deeply committed to both equal employment opportunity, including protection for Veterans and individuals with disabilities, and fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
