You will be responsible to lead the design of software required for our propulsion battery management and power distribution for VÆRIDION’s CS-23 all-electric aircraft. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of the High Voltage Propulsion Battery System at the core of VÆRIDION’s novel propulsion system.\nYour Day-to-Day:\nLead the design, development, and implementation of embedded software for propulsion battery and power distribution from prototypes to future airworthy systems.\n\nImplement software development processes and toolchains in compliance with aviation standards and regulations.\n\nDefine and document software requirements, specifications, and interfaces for the high voltage electrical power system.\n\nCollaborate closely with cell, electrical, and thermal engineers to integrate algorithms for battery state estimation, cell balancing, fault detection, power control, and thermal management.\n\nConduct thorough testing and validation of the software, including integration testing with other aircraft systems.\n\nSupport system integration, iron bird/field testing, and certification efforts, providing expertise on software functionality and performance.\n\nStay current with advancements in battery technology, software development methodologies, and aviation regulations.\n\nYour Profile:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on embedded systems and real-time applications.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in software design, with a focus on embedded systems and real-time applications.\n\nProven track record of designing and implementing software for safety-critical systems, preferably in the aerospace or comparable safety-critical industries.\n\nStrong proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).\n\nExperience with battery management systems, electric propulsion, power electronics, or related fields is highly desirable.\n\nFamiliarity with aviation standards such as RTCA DO-178C and DO-254 is a plus.\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.\n\nFluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or other language would be beneficial.\n\nWe recognize that women and other under-represented groups are often overlooked in our industry.
