Your work will cover primary and secondary structures, metallic and composite design and structural integration.\nYou will work closely with Material and Processes, Systems, Production, Configuration, Certification, Safety and external partners to turn our aircraft architecture into robust, buildable hardware while mentoring junior engineers within your area of expertise.\nYour Day-to-Day:\nIndependently execute regular structural design activities and assigned design work packages.\n\nDevelop concepts, layouts, and detailed designs for primary and secondary aircraft structures.\n\nApply hand calculations and first-principles engineering to support early sizing and design decisions.\n\nOwn structural design tasks from load-path definition, material and process selection, preliminary sizing, and trade studies through released CAD models and documentation.\n\nCreate and mature airframe integration concepts, including interfaces to systems like landing gear, propulsion battery installation, electrical routing, interiors, etc.\n\nWork with analysis engineers to ensure designs are structurally sound, weight-efficient, inspectable, repairable, and suitable for certification.\n\nCreate high-quality 3D models, assemblies, installation layouts, model-based definitions (MBD), and configuration-controlled design data.\n\nDrive design-for-manufacturing for metallic and composite structures.\n\nSupport prototype manufacturing, supplier reviews, structural testing, non-conformance resolution, and design improvements.\n\nCoordinate product development activities with teams from engineering, production, certification, quality, and suppliers.\n\nContribute to technical discussions and lead design reviews within your assigned scope.\n\nSolve local and multidisciplinary design issues, escalating highly specialized topics where needed.\n\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to structural design standards, methods, and best practices.\n\nYour Profile:\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\n10+ years of aerospace structural design experience, with deep proficiency in Catia V5 or 3DExperience.\n\nDemonstrated performance on at least two aircraft development programs, such as clean-sheet aircraft, major modifications, prototype-to-certification programs, or production ramp-ups.\n\nStrong experience designing primary and secondary aircraft structures in metallic and composite materials.\n\nSolid understanding of structural load paths, joints, fittings, fasteners, grounding and bonding, GD&T manufacturability, inspectability, repairability, and installation constraints.\n\nStrong hand-calculation skills and the ability to make sound design decisions before detailed analysis is available.\n\nAbility to independently develop, compare, and mature airframe and integration concepts within an agreed technical scope.\n\nGood understanding of airworthiness and certification principles related to aircraft structures, ideally including EASA CS-23, compliance documentation, test substantiation, and configuration control.\n\nStrong understanding of cross-functional dependencies between design, stress, systems, production, certification, quality, and suppliers.\n\nAbility to solve local and multidisciplinary issues while recognizing when specialist input or supervision is required.\n\nExcellent communication skills, strong team orientation, and the ability to work effectively across functions.\n\nStructured working style, and strong technical judgement.\n\nExperience managing suppliers and supporting internal or external design reviews.\n\nWe recognize that women and other under-represented groups are often overlooked in our industry.
