We transform weather challenges into opportunities and build resilience against severe weather and climate change.\nAs Technical Product Manager for API & Maps, you’ll own the product strategy and roadmap for our Weather API and mapping products, including SDKs and the developer experience.\nYou’ll work with customers, engineering, and commercial teams to identify opportunities, set priorities, and drive adoption and revenue growth. AI is a key strategic focus: you’ll shape how our services are discovered, integrated, and consumed through AI-assisted development, AI applications, and agent workflows.\nThis is a hybrid-based position out of our Minneapolis, Minnesota office.\nWhat you’ll do:\nOwn strategy and the roadmap. Use customer research, market insight, and business priorities to define product direction, differentiation, and investment decisions.\n\nLead customer discovery. Understand customer workflows and business needs. Confidently discuss capabilities, limitations, and integration approaches with developers and technical stakeholders.\n\nShape the AI strategy for API and Maps. Identify how AI changes customer needs and service consumption. Prioritize opportunities based on customer value, feasibility, reliability, and economics.\n\nDrive growth through data. Independently analyze usage and revenue data. Partner with marketing and engineering to improve activation, paid conversion, retention, and expansion.\n\nShape pricing and packaging. Work with commercial teams on positioning, usage-based pricing, and monetization opportunities that support sustainable growth.\n\nTurn priorities into delivery. Define problems, requirements, and success measures. Partner with engineering on scope and tradeoffs across new capabilities, performance, reliability, and compatibility.\n\nImprove the developer experience. Prioritize onboarding, documentation, examples, and integration improvements that help customers move from evaluation to production.\n\nManage the product lifecycle. Lead launches, API version transitions, deprecations, and sunset decisions, including customer communication and migration plans for the installed base. Evaluate outcomes and adjust priorities based on evidence.\n\nWhat you’ll bring:\n3+ years as a product manager for technical products, where you owned the roadmap and were accountable for its business results.\n\nPractical API fluency, including REST, HTTP, JSON, authentication, errors, and rate limits. Ability to test requests, inspect responses, and understand integration workflows and code examples.\n\nAbility to independently query and analyze usage and revenue data using SQL or comparable tools, and turn findings into decisions.\n\nUnderstanding of product-led growth, including free tiers, trial-to-paid conversion, usage-based pricing, retention, and expansion.\n\nPractical familiarity with AI-assisted development and AI applications that consume APIs or data services, and the ability to translate those changes into product priorities.\n\nStrong customer discovery, technical communication, and written requirements skills, with sound judgment, organization, and follow-through.\n\nAvailability to collaborate with US-based engineering teams and customers during core US business hours.\n\nRelevant experience may come from product management or another technical role with substantial product ownership.\n\nNice to haves:\nExperience launching AI-powered products or capabilities, including evaluating quality, cost, adoption, and monetization.\n\nMapping or geospatial experience, including layers, tiles, coordinates, raster or vector data, or libraries such as Mapbox, MapLibre, Google Maps, or Leaflet.\n\nExperience with developer platforms, SDKs, or technical B2B products, including successful growth experiments or pricing and packaging changes.\n\nAbility to adapt JavaScript or Python examples, or experience developing web or mobile applications.\n\nFamiliarity with weather or environmental data and applications that depend on timely, reliable information.\n\nWhat success looks like:\nA clear strategy and focused roadmap, trusted customer relationships, and measurable improvements in integration success, adoption, paid conversion, retention, and revenue growth.\n\nAI investments address demonstrated customer needs and produce meaningful product and business value.\n\nANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $110,000 - $125,000 base salary with our annual Xweather STI bonus plan (on top of base compensation). Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
