Joining Valar Atomics means becoming part of a company where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level.\nThe Team \nAs part of the Plant Operations organization, Utah Site Operations manages the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and readiness of Valar's Utah facilities. The team supports safe, reliable site operations while enabling successful project execution.\nThe Role \nValar Atomics is seeking a Senior Electrical Maintenance Planner to lead complex electrical maintenance planning for the Orangeville pilot plant. You’ll take ownership of detailed work packages and help establish and improve planning standards, templates, and eMaint CMMS workflows as the site transitions from construction through commissioning into operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nIndependently develop and review detailed work scope definitions for corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment, including MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, motors, UPS and battery systems, emergency power, and instrumentation and control circuits.\nLead preparation and technical review of complex work control packages that reference applicable procedures, drawings and work instructions, and that identify required tools, test equipment, spare parts, and vendor or contractor support.\nIncorporate electrical safety requirements, including NFPA 70E, LOTO and isolation boundaries, into work packages.\nDevelop and validate schedule activities, durations and resource requirements, and provide alternative recommendations when constraints arise.\nBuild and maintain asset records, PM schedules and work orders in eMaint (CMMS).\nCoordinate with operations, engineering, health physics, EHS and supply chain to ensure work is ready to execute.\nEnsure packages comply with applicable DOE nuclear safety requirements, OSHA standards, and site procedures.\nUse automated tools to develop schedules, spreadsheets, reports and graphics.\nLead development and continuous improvement of planning procedures, templates and standards as Valar scales.\nProvide planning guidance to less experienced planners and help resolve complex work package and resource constraints.\nIdentify recurring planning issues and recommend improvements to work readiness, safety, and execution efficiency.\nBasic Qualifications \nHigh school diploma or GED.\n6 + years of related experience, including 4 years of nuclear or DOE facility planning experience.\nWorking knowledge of power plant electrical equipment maintenance and operation, plus planning principles and practices.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.\nMust be a U.S. person (see Export Control below).\nAbility to work on-site in Orangeville, Utah.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nHands-on experience with eMaint or a comparable CMMS such as Maximo, SAP PM or Passport.\nBackground as an electrician or I&C technician (journeyman or equivalent).\nExperience with DOE work control processes, such as Integrated Safety Management.\nFamiliarity with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.\nExperience supporting commissioning or startup of a new facility.\nComfort in a fast-paced, early-stage environment where processes are still being built.\nWhat We Offer \nCompetitive base salary\nEquity ownership in a rapidly growing, advanced energy company\nComprehensive medical benefits\nFree daily lunch and dinner provided onsite\nGenerous stipend for steel-toed boots\nUnlimited PTO\nHigh-impact startup environment with significant ownership and autonomy\nOpportunities for rapid career growth and internal advancement\nDirect collaboration with experienced operators, engineers, and industry leaders\nThe opportunity to help build and scale transformative energy technology from the ground up\nExport Control\nThis position requires access to information subject to U.S. export control laws, including DOE 10 CFR Part 810, the EAR (15 CFR Parts 730-774) and ITAR (22 CFR Parts 120-130).
