This individual has the proven skills, competencies and capacity to lead and mentor a crew while ensuring strict compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and project procedures.\nPlease Note: this is a field based position in Northern Ontario. Successful candidates must be willing to work shifts based in the field. \nDuties and Responsibilities\nLead Grounding activities and crew members (up to 10 people)\nEnsure compliance with Valard’s safety Policies and Procedures\nComplete daily paperwork relating to jobsite, including timesheets, quality reports, field reports, etc.\nCoach and mentor employees to develop technical skills and on Valard’s safety policies and procedure\nEnsure compliance with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction quality practices\nMaintain a positive work atmosphere within the group as well as Client relations when interacting with the Client\nWork with on-site Safety Advisor to address any safety concerns brought forth by crews and or Client\nEnsure that the crews are following the Valard Quality Management Plan and that the work is being completed efficiently and effectively\nWork with Construction Managers to understand the full scope of the project to identify changes that could directly impact cost and schedule\nRequirements\nPost-Secondary education in Engineering\n5 Years’ relevant experience\nRegistered Engineer-in-Training with PEO or another provincial body\nKnowledge of Counterpoise installation with heavy equipment and installing groundwells\nExperience and understanding of FOP testing method\nAbility to read blueprints\nExperience using Meggers and Groudflex Units, and recording results\nBenefits\nThis position offers a rate of $45.00- $55.00 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.\nWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.\nAbout our Business\nValard Construction is Canada’s premier utility contractor providing comprehensive EPC+ (engineering, procurement, construction) and maintenance services to utilities, independent power producers, mining, oil and gas industries and rural electric associations.
