This position acts as a central point of contact between field operations, engineering, procurement, and the client/owner’s team for routine coordination and information flow.\nPlease Note: this position will start on a schedule of Monday - Friday, 40 hours / week in Markham and then will transition to a remote on site position working 21 days on / 7 day off (10 hour days) in the Sault Ste. Marie / Sudbury area.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nMaintain and update project schedules, trackers, and logs (RFIs, submittals, change notices, action items, drawing/document registers)\nCoordinate meeting scheduling, prepare agendas/minutes, and track follow-up actions across project stakeholders\nSupport procurement by tracking material/equipment orders, delivery status, and expediting as needed\nAssist with preparation of progress reports, client deliverables, and internal status updates\nMaintain project document control (filing, revision tracking, distribution of drawings/specs/permits)\nSupport cost tracking and invoicing coordination with the project controls/commercial team\nCoordinate site logistics support (access requests, permits, deliveries) in conjunction with field supervision\nLiaise with subcontractors and vendors on administrative/scheduling matters\nSupport compliance tracking (safety, environmental, regulatory reporting deadlines)\nRequirements\n2 years of experience in a coordination/administrative role, ideally in construction, utilities, or EPC project environments\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable managing multiple trackers/deadlines simultaneously\nProficient in MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with project management/document control software (e.g., Procore, SharePoint, Primavera, MS Project) an asset\nClear written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, construction, and client-facing teams\nBenefits\nThis position offers a rate of $40.00 - $50.00 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.\nWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including a 5% RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.\nAbout our Business\nValard Construction is Canada’s premier utility contractor providing comprehensive EPC+ (engineering, procurement, construction) and maintenance services to utilities, independent power producers, mining, oil and gas industries and rural electric associations.
