We invite you to put your skills to work, driving meaningful and enduring change while enjoying a rewarding career.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Mining / Infrastructure to join our Mines Technical Services team at Creighton Mine in Sudbury. This is a permanent position.\nAs a Senior Engineer, Mining / Infrastructure, you will work with mine operations and technical disciplines to make sure that our mines have the required infrastructure/mine systems to achieve current and long term mine plans. The successful candidates will be responsible for driving transformation and ensure the mine infrastructure systems are developed and operated in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.\nAdditionally, in this position you will:\nAnticipate and propose solutions to current and potential infrastructure risks. \nModelling/estimating the capacities of the mine infrastructure systems (dewatering, ventilation, backfill, air/water) and ensure they can meet the forecasted demand of the 3-Year Mine Plan (3YP)\nIntegrate recommended infrastructure designs from the Long-Range Planning group\nIdentify opportunities to optimize existing mining footprint. i.e. Decommission infrastructure and systems and optimize for Capex and Opex.\nIdentify, scope and cost mining infrastructure systems and annual capital development construction to achieve 3YP\nDevelop Capex and Opex profile estimates for infrastructure and mine systems expansions projects.\nCoordinate the engineering input, including and not limited to project review for the project tollgate and maturity assessments and ensures follow-up actions are completed.\nReview proposed infrastructure solutions to confirm general conformance with related regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines. \nProvide feedback on any gaps or opportunities to ensure continuous improvement.\nSafety & Continuous Improvement: Embed safety into all engineering activities in alignment with the MTS Safety Plan, while identifying opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.\nInfrastructure, Utilities & Water Management: Maintain and update mine level and section prints; manage infrastructure systems (drainage, pumping, backfill, air, LTE) and support the Water Management Program and related investigations.\nWhat We Offer You\nCompetitive compensation including a variable annual incentive plan\nParticipation in a competitive Defined Contribution Pension package\nComprehensive benefits package (company paid core coverage, health and dental coverage, flex accounts, disability plans and optional insurances)\nLeave for all of life’s reasons (vacation, personal, sick, parental) \nWork culture dedicated to safety, diversity & inclusion, and career growth\nEmployee Family Assistance Program\nVirtual Healthcare online\nOnline training and career development opportunities\nAbout You\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in appropriate Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Mining, Electrical).\nP.Eng. designation is required.\nExperience:\nA minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience with designing and planning sandfill, water, compressed air, mechanical, and/or electrical systems\nExperience working within organizations and influencing stakeholders without direct authority\nSkills:\nA strong understanding of underground mining systems and infrastructure.\nExperience in modelling mining systems (e.g., ventilation, water, power, backfill, etc.).\nSubstantial experience working onsite.\nGood communication and organization skills.\nExperience in the following areas is beneficial: Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies\nWhy Sudbury\nGreater Sudbury is a vibrant city in northeastern Ontario, renowned for its rich mining history and significant role in Canada's mineral production.
