You will receive a best in class, total compensation package that provides a comprehensive benefits program with real financial value.\nAbout the Role:\nThe Personal Property Tax & State and Local Tax (SALT)/ Administrator/Account is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and filing personal property tax returns and other state and local tax filings across multiple jurisdictions. This role also administers tax abatements and incentive programs by identifying opportunities, preparing applications, and ensuring ongoing compliance with program requirements. The specialist ensures all filings are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable state and local tax regulations.\nResponsibilities Also Include:\nPrepare, review, and file personal property tax returns, including asset listings, valuations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\n\nMaintain tax compliance calendars and ensure all filing deadlines are met.\n\nReconcile tax accounts to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies or variances.\n\nResearch state and local tax laws, regulations, and jurisdictional filing requirements.\n\nPartner with Accounting, Finance, Fixed Assets, and other internal departments to obtain information necessary for tax filings.\n\nIdentify process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax compliance activities.\n\nAbatements & Incentives:\nIdentify eligibility for tax abatements, exemptions, and incentives\n\nPrepare and submit abatement applications and supporting documentation\n\nTrack and manage compliance with abatement agreements (reporting, deadlines, renewals)\n\nCoordinate with internal departments and external agencies regarding abatement programs\n\nSupport audits related to abatement claims and tax filings\n\nAssist with state and local tax audits, including data gathering and response preparation\n\nMaintain documentation to support filings and positions taken\n\nMonitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the organization\n\nAssist in implementing process changes resulting from new tax laws or business initiatives.\n\nPrepare and file miscellaneous state and local tax returns, including:\nNevada Modified Business Tax (MBT)\n\nNevada Commerce Tax\n\nOhio Commercial Activity Tax (CAT)\n\nWhat You Should Have:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\n\n1+ years of experience personal property and other misc tax compliance\n\nStrong Accounting background\n\nDirect experience with tax abatements or incentive programs strongly preferred\n\nStrong understanding of multi-state tax regulations and filing requirements\n\nStrong understanding of General Ledger and Accounts Reconciliation\n\nAdvanced Excel skills & Experience with SAP S4/HANA\n\nJoin us!\nThanks to its strategy focused on innovation, Valeo aims at reducing CO² emissions and developing intuitive driving to propose greener, safer, and smarter mobility.
