Our company culture gives all our employees the opportunity every day to #Dare.Care.Share.\nYou will receive a best in class, total compensation package that provides a comprehensive benefits program with real financial value.\nAbout the Role:\nAs a Robot Application Algorithm Engineer, you will work with industrial robotic manipulation scenarios such as grasping, assembly, and precision insertion, responsible for robot visual perception, grasp and manipulation planning, closed-loop vision/force-feedback control, and system deployment.\nLocation: Reno, NV preferred; open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S.\nResponsibilities Also Include:\nDevelop robot visual perception systems, including object detection, instance segmentation, object localization, 6D pose estimation, point cloud processing/registration, and grasp pose computation.\nUsing robot motion planning frameworks such as MoveIt/MoveIt2, deliver a complete closed-loop workflow from visual localization to robot execution, including kinematics solving, grasp pose planning, collision detection, and motion planning.\nCombine vision, depth information, and force/torque feedback to perform online correction of end-effector poses, improving task success rates under target position errors, assembly tolerances, and environmental variations.\nIntegrate the robot software architecture and vision, planning, and control modules based on ROS/ROS2.\nResponsible for robot on-site deployment, production-line adaptation, integration and commissioning with upstream and downstream equipment, and issue troubleshooting; continuously optimize cycle time, success rate, and stability; prepare technical documentation and train on-site personnel.\nParticipate in validation of robot manipulation algorithms based on VLA, imitation learning, reinforcement learning, etc., including end-to-end policies from visual input to robot action output, as well as precision manipulation strategies that fuse vision and force feedback.\nWhat You Should Have:\nBachelor's degree or above in Robotics, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.\n3+ years of experience in robot vision-guided grasping algorithms or robot application development.\nFamiliar with forward/inverse kinematics, coordinate transformations, trajectory planning, and the basic principles of robot arm control.\nFamiliar with OpenCV, PCL, RGB-D cameras, etc., with hands-on experience in object detection/segmentation, point cloud processing, object pose estimation, or grasp pose computation.\nFamiliar with camera calibration, hand-eye calibration, and transformations from vision coordinates to robot coordinates; understand the principles of robot force control and compliant control.\nHands-on experience with real-robot commissioning/debugging and industrial project deployment.\nNice to Have:\nFamiliarity with VLA + RL / learning-based manipulation methods such as RECAP and RLT is preferred;\nPractical experience with impedance control, admittance control, or hybrid force/position control\nJoin us!\nThanks to its strategy focused on innovation, Valeo aims at reducing CO² emissions and developing intuitive driving to propose greener, safer, and smarter mobility.\nThe fantastic (r)evolution towards the vehicule of the future provides amazing career opportunities and challenging jobs!\nDiversity by nature\nAt Valeo, innovation is driven by the diversity, authenticity and energy of its talents.
