Reporting to a Product Director/Manager, this role translates the Product Director’s high-level roadmap into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering can build against. This is an entry-level, execution-focused role: you will not set product strategy, but you will be the person who turns strategy into detail - gathering requirements from stakeholders, documenting workflows, supporting the backlog, and using AI tools to move faster than a traditional Business Analyst role would allow. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career analyst to build a foundation in both business analysis and product ownership, working alongside experienced product, operations, and engineering leaders.\nKey Responsibilities:\nRequirements Gathering & Documentation\nAct as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives.\nGather, document, and validate business and functional requirements from stakeholders, translating the Product Director’s/Manager’s roadmap priorities into detailed user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.\nCreate and maintain documentation of requirements, process flows, and screen mocks to support development and implementation.\nServe as a day-to-day point of contact for clarifying requirements with engineering during build and testing.\nBacklog & Product Support\nSupport backlog grooming and refinement under the direction of the Product Director/Manager - helping keep stories well-defined, prioritized, and ready for engineering.\nHelp track initiatives, dependencies, and delivery status, flagging risks or blockers early.\nParticipate in pod operating rhythms (standups, backlog refinement, demos, retrospectives) and communicate findings clearly.\nAssist with shadow-mode validation and other testing/QA activities by comparing outputs against source data and defined acceptance criteria.\nAI-Enabled Ways of Working\nUse AI tools daily to accelerate requirements drafting, documentation, research synthesis, and data analysis.\nBuild quick prototypes, mockups, or proof-of-concept artifacts using AI-assisted tooling to test ideas with stakeholders before committing engineering time.\nStay current on AI-enabled and automation capabilities relevant to patient access and product work, and bring ideas back to the team.\nCross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting\nGenerate reports to communicate findings and insights effectively to stakeholders and management.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and identify process improvements.\nPartner with the Product Director/Manager and senior leadership to align work with product and business goals.\nWork with urgency and adaptability in a high-growth environment.\nStandards & Accountabilities\nUtilize Valeris’ values as the driving force behind the team’s success.\nOn time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures.\nEnsure all SOPs are followed with consistency.\nPerform additional tasks or projects as assigned.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nIn this role, you will help Valeris:\nTurn roadmap priorities into clear, buildable requirements that engineering can execute against the first time.\nKeep the backlog well-groomed, current, and ready for sprint planning.\nReduce the time between an identified problem and a documented, ready-to-build solution.\nBuild a strong foundation in business analysis and product ownership, growing toward more ownership over time.\nQualifications:\nRequired Experience\nBachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience.\n0-2 years of experience in business analysis, product analysis, project coordination, or a related field; relevant internships or academic projects count.\nExperience (or coursework) in requirements elicitation, documentation, and process/workflow mapping.\nStrong technical aptitude with troubleshooting and analytical skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholders.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).\nExperience creating screen mocks and diagramming process flows.\nComfortable using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) daily to accelerate research, drafting, and analysis.\nPreferred Experience\nHealthcare or life sciences experience.\nFamiliarity with Agile methodology, backlog management, and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.\nExposure to patient access, hub services, or reimbursement workflows.\nFamiliarity with SQL or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).\nInterest in growing into a Product Owner or Product Analyst role over time.\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.\n\nAlthough very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.\n\nThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.\n\nWhy Work for Valeris?\nWe’re committed to supporting the well-being and success of our team members. As part of our organization, full-time employees can expect:\nMedical, dental, and vision plans, including HSA- and FSA-eligible options, with Valeris contributing toward premium costs\n\nAdditional health support, including telehealth and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services\n\nCompany match on Health Savings Account contributions\n\nFree Basic Life and AD&D coverage equal to your annual earnings, with a minimum of $50,000 and a maximum of $300,000\n\nCompany-paid Short-Term Disability coverage, with the option to purchase Long-Term Disability\n\n401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with 100% match on the first 5% you contribute, with immediate vesting\n\nPaid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave to support work-life balance\n\nTeam members receive nine paid holidays plus two floating holidays\n\nOpportunities for advancement in a company that supports personal and professional growth\n\nA challenging, stimulating work environment that encourages new ideas\n\nWork for a company that values diversity and makes deliberate efforts to create an inclusive workplace\n\nA mission-driven, inclusive culture where your work makes a meaningful impact\n\nAny offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and, depending on the position, a drug screen in accordance with company standards.
