The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, a keen eye for accuracy, and a commitment to ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and providing exceptional customer service to our employees. Experience with Workday is highly desired and will be considered a strong advantage.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssisting with the end-to-end payroll process for a 3000+ employee organization in a fast-growing company with multi-state operations\nImproving the performance of various payroll processes throughout our organization\nPerforming payroll-related functions including but not limited to:Tax changes\nAudits\nTermination status changes\n\nImplementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, and other deductions.\nMaintaining the HR Helpdesk tickets relating to payroll related questions.\nReconciling payroll discrepancies and resolving any issues that arise.\nGenerating payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.\nMaintaining confidentiality of payroll information and sensitive employee data.\nRemaining informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices.\nAssisting with multi-state tax registrations, renewals, and processing of tax notices, as well as ensuring proper tax set-up of employees\nPerforming research on new/existing state taxing authorities as needed, along with collaborating with other departments to ensure the execution of deliverables within the organization.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or related role.\nProficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel\nExperience with Workday a plus\nStrong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nHigh level of integrity and professionalism.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred but not required.\nKey Competencies:\nAccuracy and attention to detail\nConfidentiality and integrity\nLeadership and team development\nProcess improvement mindset\nStrong organizational and time management skills\nAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in a high-growth or publicly traded company\nBackground in system implementations or automation initiatives\nExperience working in a private equity-backed environment, including familiarity with investor reporting, cash management discipline, and performance-driven operating models.\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.\n\nAlthough very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.\n\nThis job operates in a professional office environment.
