Chief Engineer, Plastics Pyrolysis

As part of our growing pyrolysis team, you will contribute to technology development, pilot plant operations, commissioning activities, and customer support. Your responsibilities

• Support the development and commercialization of Valmet's plastics pyrolysis technology.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, startup, and operation of pilot and demonstration plants.
• Analyze process performance and troubleshoot technical and operational issues.
• Work closely with R&D, engineering, service, and customer teams to improve plant performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support for customer projects, site visits, and service assignments.
• Contribute to the development of lifecycle services for pyrolysis plants.

Expectations for you

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in plastics pyrolysis, chemical recycling, refining, petrochemicals, renewable fuels, or similar process industries.
• Solid understanding of industrial process equipment, process operations, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read process and engineering documentation such as P&IDs and flow diagrams.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally.
