Sales Engineer / Vertriebsingenieur (m/w/d) - PEC, Pulp, Energy and Circularity

At our Valmet office in Darmstadt, we are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our experienced team in Valmet’s Pulp, Energy & Circularity Business Area.

Your key responsibilities:

• Provide technical and commercial support to the PEC CEN Sales Team in daily business
• Develop, manage and drive service solution sales across the CEN region, focusing on PEC-related technologies and applications
• Prepare, develop, and actively follow up on technical and commercial proposals
• Take responsibility for cost calculations and product/project margins
• Identify customer needs and develop winning technical and service solutions by combining Valmet technologies and value-added services
• Lead and coordinate internal proposal teams across a matrix organization
• Manage field service projects, including planning, coordination, and execution monitoring
• Lead and support technical and commercial negotiations, ensuring competitive and viable contractual agreements
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and actively contribute to customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in a proactive and customer-oriented way
• Support marketing and customer engagement activities to strengthen Valmet’s position in PEC, Pulp, Energy and Circularity markets
• Work closely with Sales, Technology Units, and other internal and external stakeholders across CEN

Your profile:

• Degree in engineering (M.Sc./B.Sc.) or business (B.B.A.) with strong technical understanding, or equivalent qualification
• This position may also be relevant for professionals with experience as aSales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Representative, Technical Sales Specialist, Technical Sales Manager, Project Sales Engineer, Solution Sales Engineer, Business Development Engineer, Application Engineer, or Technical Account Manager.
• Experience in technical sales, solution selling, or project execution, preferably in energy, environmental, or process industries
• Strong commercial mindset with experience in costing and margin responsibility
• Knowledge of PEC-related processes, energy solutions, or industrial applications is an advantage
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills in an international environment
• Strong customer orientation and service mindset with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships
• Structured, independent, and results-driven working style
• Fluent German and very good English skills, both written and spoken; additional languages are an asset
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP/CRM systems is an advantage
• Knowledge of Infor LN (ERP system) is beneficial
• Willingness to travel within the CEN region (approx. 20-40%)
